Your opinion on the mako is not the only one. The assertion that people only disliked it because they were bad at it and calling them stupid is asinine. The moment you stop parading around like a paragon of good taste, is the moment I take anything you say seriously.JoePilot wrote...
The mako handled fine for a mass-effect field generating vehicle on low-gravity worlds. Yes, it got a little wonky at times, but nothing that was game-breaking. If you zoomed in or used the reticle, it shot fine as well. Basically, the mako was fun, or at least bearable, unless you absolutely suck at games.
Your statement of "oh, keep your racing games out of my action movie" was the kind of asinine drivel that gives us safe, predictable, boring games. And you are being a patronizing twit.
If you want to tell me why having interesting features in games is a bad thing, we can debate, but if you're going to call any disagreement a hissy fit or temper tantrum, then I guess we're done here.
So, you're argument for the removal of a feature you don't like is.........that you (and some other people, apparently) don't like it. Compelling.
Game developers do listen to the players of what they didn't like and what they liked. Most people hated Mako and with a good reasons. Like mine!

The mako controls on PC are pretty
great, as has been said: it wasn't the mako which was the problem, it
was the uninspired surroundings it had to be used in. Would love to see
it return in ME3 in some really interesting level design. If done right,
it could be as integral to the experience as warthogs are to
Halo.
Really?
So you didn't shoot to the skies all the suddenly when you were driving (while trying to avoid enemy fire and shooting the main gun at them) and there just happens to be bump on the road? That was my biggest issue with it, basicaly the crosshairs didn't always point where the slug is going. It was pretty frustrating at times.

That's just it, it is fixed in the PC version. The stearing with the main gun and its limitation to 90 degrees of movement is fixed in the PC version.Arppis wrote...
I don't know if they fixed this for PC version. But it was GODDAMN annoying and just reeks bad design. I would have appriciated if the game would somehow tell me when the canon isn't aligned, because when I zoom in, I can't see the damn car and I do HAVE TO dodge the incomming enemy fire.
It was a huge problem and when I play games, I expect smooth controls, which Mako in this regard didn't deliver. It was crap.

Not if it was in wonky angle. I'm not talking about putting reticule on character, that works just fine on Xbox360, I'm talking about the car being in a bit diffirent angle and the canon doesn't go down enough. So it shoots the bullet to different direction.

Well, I guess that's certainly one way to look at it. The vehicle didn't always do exactly what you wanted, and you had to work within it's limitations. You're saying that you wanted smooth (easier?) controls, and (easier?) aiming that didn't take into consideration the restrictions of the turret's range of motion? It wasn't something that you could master effortlessly in 10 minutes, so it's crap then?

I'm not advocating the removal of anything. I'd be perfectly fine if they brought the Mako back with improved controls. The point is, some people like it and want it back and some people hate it and want it to staygone. Neither side's position is any more valid than the others.JoePilot wrote...

You don't have to improve the controls, just use the PC version's controls and everything is set.Atakuma wrote...I'm not advocating the removal of anything. I'd be perfectly fine if they brought the Mako back with improved controls.

Yes, they do listen. And instead of improving features, they remove them. Ergo the conflict of interest between the silent majority that likes things just fine, and the people who come on BSN and ****, whine and moan until streamlining and focus grouping strips out what we liked about the game and what we're left with is generic hall space shooter #5472. And the pandering, sweet holy mother.......now we can romance the squid teammate with no immune system and a different molecular makeup.

Yes. I like and demand good controls, the challenge must come from enviroments and enemies, not backwards controls that are broken.
And the enemies do not have this hindurance, so why should I?

Yeah, you got a good point that they should have just improved the Mako design. The Mako levels weren't THAT bad, but the vehicle itself had a lot of issues I didn't like.

It is astonishing how people confuse environment design with vehicle design.
The only thing that really bothered me was that Bioware got lazy and didn't put entering and exiting animation, instead you just stupidly popped out with arms spread.
