If Wrex is alive in your game then support the Krogans and not the Salarians, Wrex is trustworthy and is a solid Krogan leader that won't betray you. Besides if you betray Wrex he's a whole lot smarter than Wreav and will learn of your betrayal and take away support from you.
Wreav on the other hand is definitely not as trustworthy. If Wreav is alive in your game then sabotage the cure, save Mordin if you have high enough Par/Ren for extra war assets. Wreav, unlike Wrex will not learn of your betrayal and give you support regardless. Do this because Wreav will come for revenge after the war with the reapers, curing the genophage will only cause more bloodshed.
In the end if you want the most war assets you can get
Kill Wrex on Virmire
Keep Maelons research data (with it Eve will live giving you extra support)

Cured the genophage, even Mordin said it was a mistake, you can' contradict Mordin
Mordin was unstable because he couldn't cope with the responsibility. Even Wrex said the council can't hold the Krogan back forever if they need new colonies. Better to save the galaxy from that threat than to have a clear conscience.

Under ideal conditions - ie. certainty that the krogans could establish a proper matriarchy to keep birthrates controlled and order established. I'd certainly cure the genophage and give the Krogan a chance, the Salarians caused this mess they can sit back and "DealWithIt.jpg" - the krogans over time are liekly to become a powerful space faring civilisation with their long lifespans they could become quite wise
However, if the matriarchy was doomed to fail then the Krogan can't be trusted. Remember, Clan Urdnot's dominion is only held together by the fact it has the female clans behind it. If the females are all cured then they lose their bargaining chip, just a single "enemy" female could breed thousands within a generation.
It'd be deeply ironic if you were to win the reaper conflict, only to lose the galaxy to a second krogan rebellion...
This is why in ME2, I chose to destroy the genophage data, so as to ensure Wrex's dominion in the times to come; with dominion of the female clans it'd ensure Urdnot remains at the top of the pecking order. Sadly, Wrex nor Mordin could see the bigger picture in ME3
Big picture made of little pictures, Mordin could not see past little pictures. Did what had to be done, had to be me, someone else almost got it wrong.

While I debate the Krogans deserved a cure, I'd sooner have pushed the Salarians for a modified genophage that gave improved birthrates. I'm not sure an all-out cure was a good idea.
If forced to pick one or another, I'd pick the Salarians every time.

I can see why they are worried about the Krogans, and curing the Krogans wont breed you an army, it will however win you the Krogan people and they got that "lovely" tribal army.
I prefer curing the Genopage since I think the Krogan should find their own of controling themselves, like the Salarians but in their own way. Their breeding rates could certainly become a problem given their long lives, so they got quite the challenge ahead of them. This is their second chance to handle the issues, not everyone get's a second chance.
In my control ending the Krogan won't be conquering anyone, the whole galaxy would come down on them, including the Geth.
It's almost their third chance if you count the time when they almost wiped themselves out with nuclear weapons... Maybe they will get it right this time, but tbh, **** usualy happens to everyone, eventualy.

The Genophage was the right decision at the time. The Krogan were at war with the Turians and basically destroying the galaxy after the Rachni Wars. The Turians developed an alliance with the Salarians and unleashed the Salarian-made Genophage upon the Krogan. It weakened the Krogan and they lost the war.
I agree wholeheartedly with Mordin on that. He believed it was right at the time and now that time has passed the Genophage must be fixed. I will not condemn a whole race just to form an alliance with a race who is more intelligent and wealthier than the Krogan.
I love the Salarians, I do. However the time to cure the Genophage had come and Mordin wanted to be the one to do it. As he said, "Had to be me. Someone else will get it wrong."

This is not a choice I'm hoping will come up. The fact of the matter is that Salarians are a logical race. They should see the needs of the galaxy should come first and that the Krogan have proven themselves as fierce and loyal soldiers in the past.
If there really ends up being a petty squabble between these two races, I'll be ashamed of the BioWare writers. The Salarians would not hold a grudge and they'd have faith in their ability to handle the reprecussions of a cured Krogan populace, even if it meant unleashing a second Genophage after the invasion was over.
Ill be ashamed if bioware writers make a prefect ending.
Who said I wanted a perfect ending? Who said that I didn't want to necessitate sacrifice?
There are a lot of logical sacrifices. If the Rachni have been indoctrinated again, I'm going to let them go. If the Geth have been corrupted again and I have to chose between saving the corrupted Geth or saving the Quarians, I'm chosing the Quarians.
But the Salarians and Krogan just don't fit into one of these choices. The Salarians are logical. They're not a petty race. The Krogan Rebellions were hundreds of generations ago for the Salarians. Its fresh in the minds of the Krogan as many of those still alive fought in the war, but the Salarians are emotionally and physically removed from the Krogan conflict. There's no reason for them to be upset about curing the Genophage.
That was a really interesting post. I had not thought about how their very different life spans would perhaps alter how they feel about it. Thanks for posting, got me thinking on a few things
Would really like to write a great interesting following post, started up with it, looked at the really quite horrible spelling and then decided that 1:30 AM is perhaps not the time for me. Not a evening-person. But this will be something that I will ponder for a bit. Thank you.
