"Just follow your orders."
She has her orders, she isn't listening to them. She's abandoning her post and saying "screw you, shepard" because he doesn't sit her down like a child and explain why he's there.
Read the wheel more carefully. On the left side, you have the option of saying "What are your orders?" If Shepard has to ask what her orders are, Shepard didn't give them to her.

Aye, I suppose you're right. Perhaps I should say she should be arrested, court martial-ed for cowardice in the face of the Enemy, then shot. Should her orders support that of course.freejaffanation wrote...

I want to know what that Lt. Kieran's orders were exactly. And how much discretion she has in carrying them out.
For me that makes the difference between whether or not she deserves to be simply shot right then and there.
I agree in principle but shooting an ally simply for not following orders in war time is counterproductive. Now if we were talking mutiny then...

Has nothing to do with being a god, a Lt. is disobeying her orders during war and abandoning the post. Military don't teach you how to drink tea during tea time.

Clearly unrelated, but I cannot read your name without wondering if you happen to run a republic at the top right of the map.

At this point in the story, haven't Shepard "certain spoilers"?

Personally im a little disappointed at the binary choice system here, personally I would have let the asari be as none of my concern. I'm also disappointed to still see that the choices are still labeled paragon and renegade when they don't really fit the meaning, or when it could fit either way.
I'm excited, but at the same time more worried than ever that bioware is still stuck in the problems their binary P and R system has.

Theyre obviously not going to disband renegades. They've changed it up so the obvious choices (paragon and renegade) don't always work. Now instead of seeing a blue or red icon and saying "ILL CLICK IT BECAUSE IT WILL OBVIOUSLY WORK" you'll have to think it out.
Telling a soldier to do her job, at least to me, doesn't seem like something which requires much thought about what could happen.

She has orders for the attack, though she's (technically) not under his command.

Except it wasn't difficult to save Reegar even if you let him fight. Understandable, Paragon clearing the way would make it easy.

I don't agree. From the way the video portrayed it, we won't know what the outcome will be. In this case it's more "stick to your guns and hope you like the outcome."
So thinking about the choice won't do any good. You will just need to stick to your "alignment" and hope it works out, anything else is meta gaming.

I like the consequence. Usually it's blue or red.. Either one gets what you want as long as you can choose it. Now the risks are higher, it will make the game more exciting.

It's all relative to the situation. The Asari had no obligation to help him. You don't just walk into their home world and demand they do what you tell them
Apparently they do. the only difference in what pshep did was that he told the asari what was important.
Another thing that irks me is that we don't know shep reveals the "why" the rubble is so important until after we choose. Paraphrases sometimes REALLY suck.

That scene is chopped all to hell. Could be there is a renegade interrupt after that which forces the asari to reconsider. Could be part of the new reputation system in which some races (and squadmates) react to differently to certain paragon and renegade acts. Could be a 100 other things. Point is, this is a vid to sell the game. I wouldn't take it at face value. No commercial should ever be taken at face value.
