Kai Leng doesn't get upgraded in Deception. Like I said, we get a throwaway reference at the very end. Him being a cyborg has nothing to do with that book at all. Rather, the injuries he received at the end of Retribution are the motivation for it.

It really isn't a huge deal [to me]. He was a great operative for assassination missions during peace-time, but now that all hell is breaking loose and that he will be sent to oppose Shepard, I can see the reason behind the augmentations.

No but really, I don't mind Kai Leng turning into some augmented cyborg. What pisses me off is how Deception makes a half-asses reference to this. Either explain the augmentation completely, or don't mention it and let the game (ME3) explain it.

I think there's a big glossy one of him standing on Shepard's chest crushing a shotgun in his hand. It's kinda epic. We saw that one on leaked scans a while ago. I assume there is some concept art somewhere too.
