i've played ME1 & ME2 through several times just cuz i luv it and i've always picked Liara to romance really just cuz "there's nothin' better" *shrugs shoulders*.... i mean, she was kinda nervous awkward and somewhat "cute" in ME1 so i figured wth i'll go for it she's kinda dull but she IS blue and who the hell else am i gonna go for in ME1 besides her? i mean really *rolls eyes* aaaaaaanyway.......

she went from nervous, awkward and head over heels for shepard to icey-cold and indifferent in ME2.... i mean sheeeesh.... the dialogue between her and shepard makes shepard seem "needy" & "pathetic". it's kinda odd. seriously wtf?

so, after several play throughs i've finally decided on giving her the boot on my main in preparation for ME3. i just finished my "getting ready for ME3" playthrough of ME1and i didnt even go to talk to her phony butt on the ship once.

i guess a romance with Liara is perfect for those who want shepard to be the "b*@#$" of a relationship but to me it is the absolute worst romance of mass effect to date without question.

"not right now Shepard... go wait on the Normandy" *rolls eyes*

how is it NOT the worst romance of mass effect or do people just like crappy relationships in rl or something and think this is normal?

p.s. - asari live for 1000 years. in 2 years Liara's personality is UTTERLY different. how bi-polar is this person anyway? seriously.....  oh and btw.... voice-acting... C- at best! "i am liara. i am a robot. i am reading from a script. beep beep. bop bop" *facepalm*

I feel what ur saying after romancing her a couple time she has gotten lame, like honestly the only reason shes still my Sheps LI right now is shes the best lookin LI other than that shes kinda lame. And i don't want my Shep to suffer from blueballs...no pun intended.

Lmao at the "beep beep bop beep" part

EDIT: i hope she changes in mass effect 3, cuz i really want to like her character

Uh... okay.
I'm definitely not the biggest Liara defender under the sun, but seriously - her romance isn't "the worst".

*irritated*

I actually agree that Hallis' voice acting was a little wooden in the first game.

"A joke? Oh by the Goddess! How could I be so dense! You must think me a complete and utter fool!"

And I do love how Liara, claiming to be a virgin, switches to a seductive voice.

"You intrigue me Shepard...[/i]

But I like her regardless. B)

Badly.
Liara is, by far, one of the best written romances in the first two games and her voice actress is one of the best.
If you was trolling that was a poor attempt.

In the remote chance you was serious... well, nothing beats the "PRIIIIIIZE". Image IPB

His romance isn't that bad actually once you get passed the PRIIIIZE and Shep sexually harassing him.

Actually...hands down Thane and Jacob were the worst I think. Mostly because Jacob is kinda a bleh character, definitely my least favorite because I just felt he was kinda boring and straight laced. I happily killed him off in most of my play throughs. Thane it was more like "You're dying so let me help you go out happy". That and the whole business with his past relationship baggage. Just a little emo for me. Seriously, Femshep has Liara and that's about the only decent choice for romances IMO across both games. Garrus was great just because he had to "research" it :)

yeah. i had her as a LI for the exact same reasons you did but yes... it got lame. errr rather... it was always lame and i guess i finally came to my senses and kicked her to the curb.

and hell... i'm with ya. if she turns around and becomes an interesting character in ME3 then good good good but so far she is duuuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhlllllllll and when she is not dull she is pretty annoying.

hey. if people like her, more power to them.

but yeah... any rational person will admit her voice acting in ME1 is awful and her character shift from ME1 to ME2 is just silly

The ME1 romance feels somewhat awkward to me, so I never followed it. Liara does strike me as someone I could become friends with though.

Agreed. While I would label Jacob as the worst because of femshep, isolating it to JUST jacob himsel he is actually a romance grounded in realism.

Not any less boring, but definitely not the worst. Especially if you love abs.

In fact, the only romance I would call "the worst" is either the VS or kelly. Both are entirely scarce on content, one is a bonus more than a full fledged fling, the other gets forced drama caused by wierd writing that takes up all five minutes of the VS appearence in the ENTIRE GAME.

Although the VS got their time in ME1 at least, not that will make PS3 players feel any better.

I definitely thought the Shepard romance was the worst. Both VAs were just terrible, I was revolted just listening to their voices.

Seriously, anyone that actually liked the Shepard romances is just an idiot.

Who is/are the VS? Never seen that abbreviation before.

I've done every romance in the series so far including kelly. Liara's is one of the best. Her refusal to let Shepard go is incredible. She pits her faith in Cerberus to see her lover alive and then she has the restraint to stay away long enough to finish her revenge on the Shadow Broker. Liara is one phenomenal lady.

Finally someone who agrees with me, Ali Hillis should play Legion instead of Liara, she'd rock that role.

VS = Virmire Survivor.

Ehh, I don't know if there's a worst romance, just one you don't like. I didn't like either the Garrus or the Tali ones myself.

Yeah I have to agree about Ali Hillis in ME1, but she has improved heaps since then. For M-shep the worst romance is Tali

For F-shep all the 'straight' romances are undesirable.
