Loving the flood of new footage, but I am getting a bit anxious about the developement state of the game. Its exactly 25 days till launch whilst previous ME editions had more time to make the trip from code to manufacturing to shops to us. (e.g. gone gold: See definition here )

ME1 Xbox 360: Gold on October 22nd, 2007, Release November 20th, 2007 (30 days)
ME2 Xbox 360: Gold on December 23rd 2009, Release January 26th, 2010 (34 days)
ME2 PS3: Gold on Decmeber 15th, 2010, Release January 18th, 2011 (34 days)

So...ehm....whats the holdup? Does it have anything to do with this?

It will be done when it is done. We have encountered some technical stuff that is getting in the way of things. We had hoped it would be up already today, but we'll see.Currently I have no ETA.

Could someone from Bioware please tell me to shut it, cause everything's fine and on track? =]

Edit: I was placing that quote into a context that the info about the demo pre-access was delayed because of technical dificulties with the mp part of the demo, thus technical difficulties with the mp part of the "Gold" version, thus no "Gold" announcement yet.

....then again, maybe I'm looking waaaay to much into this...

My guess is the 'hoojamboobery' is the last minute stuff they're working on, it probably won't be much more than a few days.

That quote refers to the demo information we were supposed to get on the 7th. It does not refer to the game.

Don't worry. What is the problem if ME3 gets released in the 12th or 15th of march? You waited two years, you can bloody wait for ten days.

Think Chris was refering to what the OP was wondering in that thread: when there would be info on early access to the demo- as far as it going gold the dev's twitters' have stated its going gold very soon

Skyrim didn't go gold until a week before the release date. I'm sure there's nothing to worry about and we'll get the announcement soon.

They have more of a freedom to patch the game on all platforms now so I'm sure they're not going to delay it to make a perfect final issue of ME3.

The game will come out. There will be bugs. They will get patched.

I wouldn't worry. The achievements came out 5 days ago, which means 5-6 days ago Microsoft received the final game for certification (within 24-48 hours or so of them getting the game, the achievements always go up on xbox360achievements.org).

It can take a week or two to get final word back that its been approved. They have to do the same thing for Sony which has a similar process (but they don't release trophies early like this).

From personal experience I can tell you both MS and Sony approve the game in around the same amount of time. The chances of it not getting approved are insanely slim because the QA department makes sure all the TCR's are met, not to mention submissions are made to MS/Sony even earlier where they can give early heads up on any issues they may have before final submission.

Also factor in that they might not tell the public the exact moment it goes gold.

*TCR = Technical Certification Requirements. This is things like making sure the game behaves properly when you press the guide button in every imaginable situation, or making sure the game behaves properly if you unplug the controller in any situation, etc.. It's an extremely long list.

It'll probably be gold friday / this weekend, maybe early next week. They have time.

Nah, game is in certification...last step before being declared gold.

www.oxm.co.uk/38455/features/bioware-talks-mass-effect-4-dlc-plots-and-xbox-720/

You're on the final straight. Is the game finished?

We're in the final hours of it. Literally this week, we're heading off to certification. The team's pushing hard and I'm extremely proud of them. It's kind of bittersweet because it's so close to being done, but we're trying to squeeze as much as we can in.

And this was posted some time ago.
Plus there's another thread on this I believe

It was only a week or less before launch when Skyrim got the gold seal. So no worries here.
