I like your femShep, khevan!
Skylar's got quite the backstory, too.
Straight out of officer school, she was actually trained as a fighter pilot and stationed aboard the SSV Oppenheimer. She was shot down on a survey mission and ended up marooned on a moon swarming with batarian pirates. After two weeks, the Alliance sent a team in to extract her, lead by Anderson. Seeing how she handled herself with just a pistol against such odds, he recommends her for N7 training. At first, she refuses his offer, but then realizes she wants to make a difference, and that she can do that better as a ground soldier than a pilot. A year after she graduates from N7 training, her skills are put to the test on Elysium.
Skylar is stubborn, sometimes a bit brash, but overall kind, compassionate and sweet. She loves martial arts and is a rokudan in shotokan karate. Some of her favorite things include sushi, her katana, perfect headshots, driving Joker crazy, and chocolate chip cookies.

Thanks. I wanted to try something different, and Ruthless was a background I'd never tried, but I already had a renegon maleShep, so I wanted her to be paragon. It took me a bit to work out how to make it make sense to have the "renegade" background be the basis for a "paragon" femShep, but it works for me. I headcanon this by saying that her parents on Mindoir managed to instill a fundamental decency into her character before the batarian raid. Torfan came close to breaking her for good, but that solid basis her parents gave her helped her cope.
I actually relate femShep to Honor Harrington in some ways. Different characters, different universes, but sharing some similarities. Since HH is highly proficient in
coup de vitesse, a martial art described as distilled ferocity, it made sense for Kyra to be proficient in a form. I imagine her to be a krav maga expert, an Israeli martial form that borrows from alot of other systems, and boils them down to pure aggression.
This also let in some insights into Kyra's mentality. She's a paragon, yes, but she's not a
nice paragon, and she's blunt, even brutally honest. She also has
alot of anger built up, both from Mindoir and rage/guilt from Torfan, but that inner core of decency I mentioned earlier helps her to not act on that rage (most of the time
Hi, Charn!)
I should stop now, or I'll write a 20 page dissertation on Kyra's character, and I don't think anyone really wants to read that...

edit: Somehow this part got deleted...maybe I did accidentally. But anyways, I wanted to say I thought your Shep was well thought out too. Like her backstory alot!
