The intent of a Pre-Load

This is called competition, and is an integral part of a Capitalistic free market.

If Steam failed to pre-load for me, I would cancel my order, because I am buying through an online service that does not give me a physical object in return. Instead of getting a physical DVD, and other nice things that cost money to make, I get the data on my computer when I want it. If they failed to do that, I would be unhappy.
There is nothing wrong with people being mad at D2D. The time that they hosed me (2 years ago), they never answered my emails and did not give me a refund. Heck, they wouldn't even take the time to send me an email saying they were hosing me. D2D sucks.

I would be thankfull if my gamestore manager didnt do the robotSeriously though, I understand the frustation, but on the other hand, dont you think the employees that are trying to fix the situation are also frustrated? I mean, sure, they made a promise, but as I said before, all promises can't be kept due to faults in technology or the human factor. From my point of view, this is how it works. Talk about sueing someone for how the world works seem a little bit... rough.
I totally agree. Give these guys a break.

If they promise something else to attract us to them rather than any of the other businesses then they better give it.
And if they don't, you cancel your pre-order. If it's a technical issue though, it's a technical thing and not a "I hate you, die in a fire, you can't have your pre-order early" case which a lot of people have assumed as intent.
The pre-loading is useful, for sure.. but it's not exactly what you're paying for.

Especially, if they fail to give you a service at the time they agreed to provide it.
I mean in the grand scheme of things does it matter if you had to wait 1 extra minute waiting in line at the grocery store? Probably not.... but if you had to wait that minute because the cashier was texting her boyfriend, you would be pretty mad.

FreyarS, you fail to understand that the game is the same price no matter where you get it. So, if you buy it from somewhere and they give you inferior service compared to their rivals, you have every right to be angry.

You did not get an "inferior service" compared to Steam.
The pre-load was promised on the 1st.
The pre-load was available and is working on the 1st, but had a technical delay.
Steam users do not get a special super star for being the first ones to download a folder full of encrypted files, they're all the same and waiting to be unlocked on the release date.
If your internet service is genuinely so slow that the extra hours will prevent you from playing the game on the 3rd, then perhaps digital distribution in the first place is an unwise idea? I'm very sympathetic, especially now that most PC Games aren't even being stocked in some brick&mortar stores...but there are online retailers that ship it early enough to arrive that day.
Or would you rant and rage that Amazon.com delivered yours a few hours later than the guy that ordered from Gamestop.com?
And no, waiting an extra minute in line at the grocery store because the cashier was answering a text wouldn't make me "pretty mad." It'd be annoying, sure...but angry? Are you kidding me?

Yeah, I would be a bit irked about it, but the more appropriate analogy would be:
The cash register was malfunctioning and required every single item to be checked manually, or had to restart. Should the malfunction have happened? No, but in IT you learn pretty **** quick that things do in fact break for no obvious reason. I

You should just delete your double posts. No need to type "oops". There's no message saying "post deleted by..." anyway.
I think folks should be angry if they have trouble downloading the game from D2D on Nov 3rd (or Nov 2nd). This is not really an issue unless their servers crash and burn during periods of massive downloading.

We can't delete our own posts, we can just edit them as far as I can tell.
