I purchased "The Art of Mass Effect" from the Barnes and Noble website, so did a couple of my friends, and none of us have recieved the e-mail that contains the promotional DLC. I was wondering if they are waiting to send out the codes until the book ships or if something screwed up and we need to talk to customer support. Would really appriciate some help here.

Typically retailers don't sent promo codes until you are charged (item is processed and shipped). If they didn't do this people would pre-order, get codes, then just cancel before being charged.

No idea. I would wait until it ships before panicking, if it doesn't then ring up customer services. Also do we get this content if we purchase it from the bioware store only I've ordered the clamshell version. Is it exclusive to Barnes and noble?

The Art of Mass Effect Universe (ISBN: 1595827684).

After you have placed your pre-order purchase of The Art of Mass Effect Universe, you will receive via email one (1) unique code for use to download extra game content no later than March 8th, 2012. Your code will be emailed to the email address associated with your Barnes & Noble account. Download codes are only valid for PC and Xbox 360 platforms. Shipping and handling charges may apply to your pre-order purchase of The Art of Mass Effect Universe.

this is a quote taken from the Barnes and Noble Promotion details page. http://www.barnesand...v.asp?PID=42257

sooo...final answer is, you should get it on or before March 8th. As mentioned above, it should be when they charge you for it.

Did it say you needed to register the game with your bioware account to access the content?
Once you register the game, it will see the same registered email and add the DLC as content to be downloaded on your console.
If not, then it would probably be best to contact the B&N customer support, or whoever you supplied your email address to when registering for the content.

It's just going to be a code. It's not going to be tied to anything. When you get it, you'll just log into your BSN or Origin account, and punch in the code to unlock the content.

As the only specific item mentioned was access to the Collector's Assault Rifle for use in multi-player, this poses two potential questions:

1. If I've already got the Collector's Assault Rifle in ME2, do I even need this pre-order bonus?

and/or

2. Does this mean that the transferred weapons and armor from ME2 are only usable in single player?

1. Probably not.

2. It's pretty clear from the trailers released today that the answer to this is also no.

My book was shipped today apparently about an hour ago. I have no email regarding my code for the collector assault rifle (already have mine from ME2). It may be different somehow, who knows? I wanted the art book regardless. I will let you guys know when I get my code if you like.

I've said in other threads, the reaction to these promo code deals from Bioware devs seems to indicate that even they didn't know what was going on. Someone probably had to scamble to get the codes together, so they may come along anytime between now and the game's release.

Very true. I'm not worried about the code coming, I was just saying that the book had shipped and no code immedeatly. Not like I can do anything with it anyway haha.

The very fact that they are saying the codes will be emailed, rather then physical codes, is indicative of how slapped together this whole promotion is.

Should have waited, but I couldn't pass up using my Baby in Multiplayer. Still, I've been charge, and I won't get my physical copy of the book because I'm moving (ducky). I'll just have the book mailed to me or something.

Jeebus, how many of this promotional DLC from buying crap are they offering? This is just getting to be overkill.

It all going to be exactly the same MP only code. When this is revealed, no one is going to care.

More than I can put into words. I preordered the collector's from Origin in January. I had to cancel my collectors order from june since i moved and make a new order. I preordered the regular edition from Gamestop, got the art book, and I'm debating getting the action figures pending on what exactly the DLC is. That **** cray.

You were supposed to inform your Gamestop of transfering your Pre-order.  They will mail your copy to the new Store, you will access it after launch, or if you're lucky someone will cancel and they'll put you on the list.

Had to talk to two different store managers.

It was the Origin one I had to cancel and I was surprised I was still able to preorder a CE from there in January still. I would have been livid had I not been able to reorder. They still don't have a good record keeping system of preorders *sigh*. I have to hold onto that confirmation email and pray it ships on launch day. I have no qualms with gamestop. I will be picking my regular edition of ME3 up at midnight and recieve the CE in a few days via mail I suppose.

I don't know why people insist on exaggerating. The MP DLC we are talking about here has been offered with a total of TWO products. The art book when ordered from B&N, and the figures. That's it. The DLC is MP only. From the description on the Bioware store, it's clear that's nothing anyone should care about in the slightest. Buying the figures to get the DLC would be ridiculous. It's just meant to be a tiny bonus for people who do by them.

Hmmmmm I was already charged by B&N and my copy is on the way (next 3 business days or whatever) but I got no code yet. Guess it will still come some time on or before the 8th?

Most likely. Don't worry about it until the sixth, and don't expect it until the 8th.

I'm more concerned that now its been shipped, I have to tell the management here that I'm moving and they need to send it back. Or, have a neighbor ship it to a new address.

I've also gotten an e-mail saying mine has been shipped, but no code. I'm not too worried about it though, I actually wanted the book, the code is just an added bonus. Is anyone else surprised that they're shipping out this early? I thought the release date was the 21st (not that I'm complaining).

Yeah, because I love spending two weeks of food on a book that I won't be able to read for a set of weeks.  Not to mention this move is pre-scheduled.  Didn't see it coming, but the code should be in an email, so I'm not too concerned.

Yeah I remember someone on the forums said their had order had shipped, but it wasn't from barnes and noble. I'm guessing B&N is just trying to keep up
