Roleplay style:
Heavy, immersive
Dammendrech is a non FR realms PW; it has been up and running for very nearly four years.
The main features:
Level capped at 20
Low majik
Low gold
Slow levelling
Static quests:
Curently there are several dozen of these, mostly to enable a PC to reach level two. Not all quests are available to all PC's, some require a particular residency, or membership of a particular faction or class.
Playable races:
Human
Dwarf
Gnome
Halfling (known in the world as Lakkvarian)
Half Orc
Half elf
All elven races (renamed in the world)
Unplayable races:
Tiefling (known in the world as Daemonspawne)
All Genasi races
Playable classes:
Currently we use all but three classes (RDD, Doomguide and HW) but as with the races the classes are renamed to better fit the world.
Encounters:
Mainly quite weak and featuring only
1. Regular animals
2. Creatures that can be found in myth/folklore
Majik:
The superstitious mindset of the era in which Dammendrech is set makes the casting of almost any majik taboo. Expect bad reactions if you openly flaunt it in front of other PC's and casting in a town will get you jailed, or worse.
Players:
Our players come from all over the world. Currently we have a mainly EU/US playerbase, split roughly 60/40.
DM events:
There are DM run events on most days/nights, but it is expected that players will make their own stories that DM's can interact with and help the story along. These do not have to be massive events to be recognised. If it is an interesting idea you have then you can rely on DM intervention if you want it, not everyone does.
Can I change the world?
Yes, you can, both politically and physically if it is required. Obviously both must be done in a reasonable manner, and with staff approval. The latter is rarely denied.
Items:
You will not find anything that could be described as 'uber'. Occasionally, if the RP leads to it, items are created especially for PC's. These items will always reflect the events of a story, and are not just created to give a PC an edge. All our weapons and armour are made especially for the server, heavy weapons and armour are not generally available unless you join a particular faction.
Player housing:
Players may have as many houses as they wish, PC's can have ONE house which they can purchase once they have taken residency in a town and have the required funds.
All player houses are unique. They are built around the PC to the players specifications.
