TBH, I'm WAAYYY more excited over seeing Legion, Jacob, Miranda, and Samara in the trailer than I am seeing the new FemShep model.
BTW, kinda hoping they redo the scene with Vega so he's not seen punching out FemShep. We've seen him land a few on Sheploo, so I hope they tweak it a little. Maybe he throws some punches, but she dodges them?
EDIT: Also, "Tell your friends we're coming for them." = BEST line I've heard from the trailers so far.
From what I saw, it looks like Femshep punched Vega out.
Really, really awesome trailer BioWare! And I agree about the last line being the best line so far.

Why should he not land any on FemShep? Because of her sex? Come on now, she's seen over nine thousand combat (a scientific measurement obviously), is a supermassive badass and is a cybernetically augmented soldier/marine. We've been told about the sparring scene that Vega is an equal-opportunity fighter.

Cause, even though she is a marine and all that you mentioned, I just don't like the idea of promoting cross-gender violence.
I've never been in the armed services, but I believe that, in sparring exercises, they match women with women.
Regardless, in something like this, where younger viewers could see it, I'd just as soon there not be a depiction of a woman getting hit by a man, ESPECIALLY in a friendly atmosphere. This could, possibly in the wrong boy's mind, make it seem like women are OK to hit, as long as it's a friendly competition.
Besides, the same point could be gotten across or even make FemShep look better if she dodges all his attacks and lands a right cross to him. Dontcha think?

There'll probably be a line about him being uncomfortable about sparring with a lady and then her convincing him that she can kick his ass. Keep in mind that maleshepard still PUNCHES WOMEN (the reporter from me1 and 2) :E

Uh.....no? Sexism goes both ways. Having Vega hold back on FemShep is both demeaning and insulting. Equality can only be achieved if one does not view another as inferior or superior, particularly on a biological basis. Maker knows I'm sick of hearing customers at work calling me a "delicate flower" and that the "big, strong boys" should be doing my job.
As far as younger viewers are concerned:
1.) This game is rated M for a reason.
2.) Last I checked violence in general shouldn't be promoted not just violence between sexes.
And to stay on topic with the thread. Awesome trailer. Am I the only one who thinks FemShep looks a little bloated at certain angles? Particularly in the cheeks.

seem to be multiple iterations in this trailer. Maybe it's just
Youtube compression but that seems to be the case.
When we first see her with the Anderson Holo - Way too much make up.
Looking down at rifle while reloading - Almost no makeup - Correction - Makeup. Hair not shiny.
Sliding into cover then drawing pistol - Looking like a BOSS and almost exactly what I wanted.
Climbing up destroyed beam - really close too.

Yes, yes and YES. I'm hoping this scene can be played out a variety of ways to satisfy people on both sides, but if Vega just stands there or mock-punches the whole time, I'll be highly disappointed in BioWare. Mary Sue Shepard dancing circles around the boys doesn't appeal to me. <_<GhostlyMaiden wrote...

Not saying he's holding back, just saying he never actually makes contact. Like Ash's sister. He tries to hit her, but never lands a punch and gets knocked-out/taken down.
This game IS rated M. The legal drinking age is 21. And no one gets their hands on alcohol before they're 21, right?
And, I personally think it's easier to disseminate blowing an alien's brains out than it is to beat another human being to death with a baseball bat.
I get what you're saying, but just because he doesn't hit her doesn't make it demeaning. Heck, I think what I'm suggesting makes FemShep look better than the alternative, to be quite honest.

That being said awesome trailer in multiple ways. It was launch trailer material. This is the kind of stuff that makes people want to buy games. Plus Jennifer Hale gets the recognition she always deserved in terms of publicity.

Yeah, I remember that. I WISH they'd done something about that, but it's too late now.

Did anyone else think she looks like Jack with hair?
Using the artwork leaked as a point of comparison, Jack looks way better. No comparison...
