This is because they didn't use a face scan, so she won't have the detail of a real face. Compare Sheploo to home-made BroSheps and you'll see what I mean.Mr Massakka wrote...
Fem-Shep looked a little too... I don't know, she looked like a Dragon Age 2 character. A little cartoony maybe...
I don't know, but great trailer with snippets of great returning characters.
Actually I think she DOES look kinda odd...and yes cartoonish. None of the squadmates (except for Jack maybe) have such mask-like faces with exaggerated features.. The only detail of her face is the freckles really. She wasn't modelled after a real person, fair enough. Still, none of my custom femSheps look so cartoonish...
Huge eyes, ridiculous lips, the eyebrows bug me, too (compare to Ashley whose eyebrows look far more realistic).
The hair looks fantastic, though.
That said I am surpirsed that she looks nothing like that 20 year old Wiona Ryder clone from the art work. That's a good thing. The actual new femShep looks halfway badass at least.
It's a big improvement IMO.
I didn't believe we'd ever get to see a femShep trailer. Didn't see the need for one now. But the trailer matters to some poeple. So thanks, BioWare. Decent job.

Ditch the lipstick and give her a human sized nose and it'd make a world of difference. Love, love, LOVE the freckles. Please tell me Vega throws punches at femShep and doesn't just stand there and take it...
ditch the lipstick, give her a nose that isn't michael jackson's nose, move the skintone slider off the one the game literally only uses for strung-out characters like Nef, give her complexion instead of glass for skin, tone down the eyeshadow.
i have no issue with femshep wearing makeup; i'm an incredibly girly girl myself, and i wear it every day. so do my sheps.
but in me1 and me2 you can't actually do makeup as strong and bold as new!femshep's. that is a serious character design problem, guys!! it's okay to admit that she looks unnatural, it doesn't affect your enjoyment of the game or of femshep!
i effing hate the way she looks, like with every fiber of my being. i'm still going to buy and love the game, but damn right am i going to make my displeasure known, and people telling me to shut it can deal with it or go elsewhere.

I also think her make-up is a bit heavy and I have a couple other minor nitpicks, but overall, I love the new look. My canon fShep won't change, but my redheaded, hard charging Vanguard will.
I wonder how she'll look using Ashley's face texture, if/when we can supplant parts.

With that said I do have a few redheads to pick from plus the old default femshep. If I change any of them it will probably be the latter.

What I would like to know is how people can complain about her pale-ness. Have you ever met ginger people in real life? We do NOT tan. I am ginger and if I get exposed to sun for a bit I turn into a lobster for a while and then return to my original super-paleness. This is...just normal. XD
She could lose a bit of the lipstick...but it's by no means a deal-breaker. But that's just me. <shrug>

I agree with you. I was hoping for a proper HD facial model like the male has but whatever, I guess. I just won't use this strange creature. At least male Shepard looks better than ever.ademska wrote...

Umm, did we see the same video? seriously. first, the nose was great. it looked like a normal nose for a change. second my femshep has just as much makeup and spider lashes (tammy fay) without any mods (ps3) so i am not understanding what your talking about. unnatural compared to what? a human model? she is not a representation of a person, she was made form scratch. why would we have to admit to something that is a given. thats liek having to admit the sky is blue when we all know it. is this a symantical argument?
Finally, for them to create her from scratch WITHOUT a point of reference liek sheploo's male model (a human being) I think they did an absolutely amazing job. AMAZING!
you are entitled to your own opinion, but know that I dont agree with your opinion. you hate her, good for you here's a cookie *passes chocolate chip cookie*. I dont. If you are going to let your opinion known thats great but know that people are also entitled to their opinions as well and they are equally allowed to voice them. thanks for playin:innocent:

Well it was nice while it lasted but as always with BSN, the naysayers always come out in force to mess the party.
whats really sad is that it did not even take more than what a 1 hour. The trailer came out for me a 11:55 EST.
Damn shame...its wonder Bioware even exist with "fans" like some of these folks.
