From what I understand, Udina is on the Council regardless of your prior decisions, because in the books/comics Anderson quits the Council between ME2 and ME3.

As for the makeup: I agree the lipstick is over-the-top. Outright ugly, actually. And the eyeshadow is somewhat heavy as well. But the face as a whole is fine. Also, she's badass, that should count for something. Looking forward to seeing her in the game.

and that's a silly argument, anyway. who are kaidan, ashley, vega, liara, etc based on? some characters have facial models, but many do not, and they look fantastic.

femshep looks like the creepy lara croft redesign.

The fact is if she didn't have makeup those who have problems with her textures would have bigger problems because the bloom would take out any contrast in her face. i won't argue on texture or accuracy to concept because a) you have a point about blur and lighting and  i don't care about concept art, however.

her makeup?

she is wearing, at minimum:

eyelid primer. liquid eyeliner, around the lower and upper lids. matte black eyeshadow, smudged under the eye and above the eye on the lid. matte gunmetal (or lighter black) eyeshow, extended to the browbone. black mascara, applied heavily on both lids. dark brown lipstick. eyebrow pencil, applied heavily.
prep time: at least 15 minutes, more realistically 20-25.

considering i'm the most vocal person in this thread right now, i assume you're talking about me.

i also assume you can't or won't read, since i've stated a few times now that all my sheps wear makeup, as do i personally. i don't have a problem with makeup, i have a problem with this much makeup.

AND NO, real soldiers are not allowed to wear as much makeup as shep is here. makeup is permitted within strict, natural guidelines, and this exceeds them; ask any irl soldier. shepard is a spectre and is not required to conform to those standards, of course, but it still looks ridiculous and is ridiculously time-consuming.

i want shep to be hot, but she doesn't look hot here, she just looks like a cartoon. she looks like she stepped out of bioshock: infinite.

It is a game in the future you can't really make exapmles with the current US military.  Deal with the make up. If you don't want Shep's face to be caked with her mascara and lipgloss change yours when you play.

Bioware tied to give the fans what they want and all you guys are doing is b!tching. You guys voted for the redhead and you got it!

For the record I voted for the black one.

Well if you've played ME2, you know how the lighting in that can absolutely obliterate Miranda's face.

I'm actually going to contribute some positive feedback from this video.

Here goes! Awesome. There are loads of really good trailers for Mass Effect 3.

It's nice to see Female Shepard in action. I also like the amount of detail there is on her face.

Great action and some squadmates from previous games. More exciting Reaper action.

The Makeup isn't ugly. But it will be once she starts sweating.

True and all of us who made any custom characters in Mass Effect 1 or 2 know that within three conversations your custom shep has looked like three different people each time.  I can't count the amount of times I remade Sheps to get the face to look similar in most cutscenes.

As for that in game demo screen of Femshep, it's even more accurate than I thought.  The only obvious difference being the chin/jaw not being so angular/sloped.  Not bad for since it looks like a cap of a TV screen or monitor.  Not to mention the screenshot is on a weird angle.
