Yeah she does. Shorter hair, a less defined jaw, and bigger (and in my opinion weirder) eyes. Or maybe it has something to do with the angle of the concept art. Her head was pointed down a bit in it.

We all predicted the Femshep fans would complain about something shown in the trailer, before it was released anyway, this is now exactly the case.

Some BSNers will always complain unfortenly.

As for the trailer, FREAKIN' EPIC! The action, the music and most especially how femshep looks which is amazing IMO but I'm biased as I'm a supporter of ginger femshep, LOL!

I'd tell Bioware to take my money but they already have it as I pre-ordered it a while ago and paid in full. My only complaint is that I'm more eager than EVAH for the game now! LOL!

Seriously what did you expect? There is no design that would please everyone. A femshep without makeup, looks plain, or too young/old... looks too butch... etc. Nothing would satisfy the naysayers. They want perfection.

she does not look like a cartoon. yes this is your issue. your words have picked her apart from every concievable angle (not any texture, too much makeup, etc) except most of the shots of her face close up. who cares. these are opinions and EVERYONE has them. so dont lie by saying your not making a judgement and accuse someone of making a judgement when they are responding to YOU making a judgement. I for one am actually considering playing the default femshep this time. I hated the other ones but i love this one (except the hair I just want it longer or in a bun). thats my opinion and is just as valid.

That constant, passive smile that colors her face along with the excessive makeup makes me want to keep my custom FemShep. Still loved the trailer though!

Nitpick# 9,587: Does she have blue eyes? I was all excited for the pretty green eyes in the concept art!

Also, I agree that her facial features don't match her facial structure (dainty, doll-like smallish features on a very angular, almost severe face shape)... I think it makes her look off. Waaaay too much makeup too, but whatever, I use my own Shepards anyway.

THey just might since there isn't a face model to barge in the office all "YOU LET THEM TOUCH THIS FACE?!" and throw a random plate or teacup against the wall for emphasis.

Which always kinda sucked for me, since I always wanted to give Sheploo green eyes and different hair color for an alternative Male Shepard. 

(oh well, I finally did manage to create a good-looking custom MaleShep recently for my new Sentinel)

The proportion of her facial features look off. Her eyes are huge like those Japanese anime characters. There's just something weird going on.

You really missed the point didn't you?  Playing default Shepard is fine if you like him/her, playing default if you dislike it makes no sense. In that case forget the default and choose custom. I chose Marian Hawke default and custom Femshep. I'm flexible you see!

Anyone who dislikes the default are free to customize their own Shepard. What you should not expect is Bioware to cater to your personal tastes as to how she should look.

Shepard didn't seem "cartoony" to me so I'll reserve judgement. Textures always look better in game. I didn't even consider this cartoon stuff until I came here - people on BSN like nitpicking things to death. They drain the life out of everything.

Both look good and one is simply concept art which is generally a rough draft and not always or even usually going to be an exact copy in the finished product.  The game looks amazing, femshep is as deadly as she is beautiful and I am freakin' wanting this game like no other game before!

Honestly, I'm unsure where you're getting totally different from. They look highly similar to me with the exception that the concept FemShep is more pale/white, and the lipstick in game. Concept art is a concept art, yeah it looks better.

I think the lighting also distorts the model.
