at 1:04 who's Miranda biotic blasting out a window? TIM or maybe her Pops?

Difficult to tell. I definitely don't think it's TIM.

It's probably her father or someone we haven't met yet

Hmm, you know while i love the new Femshep, i have always loved the look of FemHawke too. I hope that with the new hair models we can make a good copy of her in ME3. :)

you honestly think only a handful of people play john shepard or garrett hawke? i and the bioware collected user data assure you that that's not the case, and there are a lot of reasons for it.

Not sure about DAII, but IIRC, only 20% of all Shepards are default.

1 in 5 is not a low percentage. and iirc that statistic is dudeshep only, since he has the unchangeable face. if he had a female high-resolution (which this shep is empirically not) counterpart, it would most likely go up.

Agreed. And what difference does it make, anyway? I'd guess MOST of us have our own femSheps built, so how does this affect your playthrough? That's right, it doesn't.

Maybe BioWare should have solicited images of BSN user's femSheps, and
had a contest to see which one everyone liked the most...nah, that
probably wouldn't help.

I have no  idea why its such a big deal especailly when you can customize the face if you don't like it - change the face its not that complicated or that big of deal.

Bold because this has been my biggest issue with Bioware - sometimes listen to fan feed back is great but there are times when they go too far. She should have just hired an artist  and model for her like they did  Sheploo and said DEAL WITH IT  and moved on.  When it comes to something likes this no one is going to be happy.

I agree with the bold. They should have just scanned a face model in. I just think this new FemShep doesn't look natural at all when everyone around her does. Sheploo looks natural, a lot of CC-created Sheps look natural (a fair few don't, lol), but Jane 2.0 doesn't. That all would have been fixed with a face model.

You can customize your character, but default FemShep is the public face of both ME and female Shepard. I just wish they didn't make her look so unrealistic. It really does look like they tried too hard. My friend described it as if they tried to put a woman's face on a man's head. XD

I know I'm a little late here but..

HOLY SHHH!!!!TTT that trailer was amazing.

FemShep looks great. Different than I expected but NOT in a bad way, and I'm glad she doesn't look 18 like she did in the artwork!

Why do people complain about a customizable character? They can make Sheploo look like Mr. Trololol and I wouldn't care because I never use him. We got a femshep trailer full of action and guest appearances and that's all that should matter. Considering how Bioware also has to develop with a 6 year old engine (Unreal Engine 3) on a 7 year old rig (Xbox 360) I'm not surprised that things aren't 100% similar.

But the problem here is that alot of people on the BSN complain alot, look at other sites that  talk about this trailer and most of the complaining comes from BSN

I think the lighting also distorts the model.

The hair is a bit too dark but the face structure is fine. IMO.

I'm a little disappointed.
The CGI concept pics were 100x better than what we actually got.

When you compare the pics with the actual in-game model, the hair looks really flat and lifeless. And the level of detail seems to have dropped significantly, which is the complete opposite of what they did with broShep.

In the end, femShep still seems like an afterthought.

Oh well.....it's too late for them change (or improve) anything now, guess I'll have to deal with it.

1) Her face proportionality is off...I think I can even pinpoint it. It's very wide, and she's got very severe features including a heavy-set jaw, very high and prominent cheekbones, and just a bulky facial structure in general. Then you add a delicate little nose, cute lips, and huge eyes, and it makes it look pretty unnatural. I know BioWare has tried very hard to make a FemShep that looks realistic for us, but I don't think they did that very well. She doesn't look real at all to me...not like any actual person I've ever seen. It's almost as if they tried too hard to combine a strong look with a feminine look, and it's not working.

That's it - that's what was throwing me off about her face before, but I couldn't pinpoint what the specific issue was.

If her face is turned to the side slightly or at an angle it looks as though her face is too... out? Forward? I don't really know how to describe it, but that's what's off for me anyways. Other than that and her eyebrows (a bit too heavy but that's my personal preference) I like it. I know Bioware really tried for us and I'm glad there are those that really and truly love her look.

Her trailer is pretty kick ass regardless.

Can't wait to see if they happen to have new hairstyles in store for us. Can't wait to do some customizing. :3

At first, I was gonna make a mild complaint in agreement with the "too much makeup, really weird petite facial features on a strong jaw strucutre etc." crowd, but you know what? This is still some of the best marketing a female character has ever gotten. Nah, it ain't perfect, but Bioware delivered what they promised and they gave FemShep the proper respect she deserves where it matters.

Good job, guys.

First of all: not hatin’, please do not get me wrong. I think she turned out quite well. And I’m SO happy that us FemShep fans finally got this trailer. This last batch of videos got me so hyped I can’t even say. =) Good job!

My two cents, and I say this not only as a fan as well as a designer specialized in facial modeling: the face does look a bit off, nothing tragic but nothing special either, which I think is the problem. A big part of it obviously because she wasn’t modeled or inspired after a real-life person, such as Sheploo, Miranda or even Samara. But maybe more angular features, would have given her a more unique look. Think Famke Janssen in X2, same haircolor and similar style, coulda been an A. Small details, such a slightly more avian nose (for ex, Femhawke picture above) goes a long way in adding character to someone who has plenty of it, but has been "faceless" over the previous games. Again, just my humble opinion.

Overall, I AM happy with it. I like the coloring, no complains on the makeup here (believe me, it is doing her a great favor – and I’m not talking about beauty) and the hair looks simply fantastic. I like it well enough to start a new playthrough (today!) just to play this gal on ME3.

Speaking of which: May I ask you guys some help me coming up with a name  (can’t quite make my mind just looking at her), all suggestions are appreciated! So far I’ve got: Jean, Kira, Anya, Tracy… maybe a Kate or a Sarah, dunno. Please? =D

I'm so glad they kept their promise and gave us some Femshep love and all that stuff. Trailer in itself is good, I love Jen Hale's voice.
But seriously, from what I've seen on these concept arts... This face is a joke. A failure. Utter failure. Those lips... Really? That's just ridiculous.
I'm disappointed. After seeing a perfectly done default female character we had in Dragon Age 2, I expected MUCH much better from BioWare.
Still, good to see a female video game heroine getting so much attention.

So, a bit late to the party, but egomaniacal as I am, I think the party doesn't start without me anyway, so here are my two cents:

I don't quite like her appearance. In particular her lips, ... they seem kind of off related to the rest of her face.

That's all. The trailer itself was great,

Well that video just made me preorder.

Got the DDE on Origin. Might as well get the download version since it'll be using Origin anyways, and now I won't even have to leave the house to go out and buy it on release day.

I like the trailer, and the fact that there is a trailer. It's awesome. I do not like the new default face. It is nothing like the one chosen in the big facebook vote. This face does not please me at all.

Ignoring all discussion of whether Bioware should have had a facebook vote (or two) to pick the new FemShep, changing their minds and giving us something very different from what we were promised is bad business. Either let people vote on the face or decide for us, Bioware. Don't tell us our votes count and then do something else.

YES. This. It's painfully obvious at 0:43 in the trailer. At some angles, she looks okay...at others, she ranges from looking like a guy with a woman's face to flat-out unnatural. I might also add she has almost no forehead to speak of...I'm imagining the skull underneath and it doesn't look right. No matter how many times I look at it, I can't get it to look right.

I am pretty happy we got a FemShep trailer, though. This is the best marketing she's had ever...that any female lead video game character has had, really.
