This trailer was awesome, and it would have been great even if it hadn't featured FemShep. That's what makes it so special, though. BioWare often says they listen to their fans closely, and if you weren't already convinced you just have to look at this trailer to believe it.

People are going to squabble over the details (why is it always the female characters' appearances that gets criticized so much? And in such a bipolar manner, too re:"TOO SEXY"/"NOT SEXY ENOUGH"), but I guess it's because they care so much. It seems the "immersion threshold" can be pretty variable between individuals, hahaha. To those people obsessed with these details, I'd probably prescribe a chill pill and recommend using the character creation system, but that's just me.

Anyway, FemShep is strong and beautiful, the trailer is exciting and well executed, and haters are always ever inclined to hate.
Thanks for listening to your fans, BioWare. Good job.

^This was a very intelligent, well mannered response to some of the (as you put) it negativity in this thread. I couldn't agree more on any of your statement.

Great trailer!!!
I have kept away from the recent videos so I might not be completely up to date as to what might already have been shown. But as far as this one goes, despite all the cool big stuff that's happening, what I liked most are the minor, little things. Little animations like Joker fiddling with his hat or how Anderson throws the dog-tags to Shepard. They look great and it shows that BW put a lot of effort even into these minor details. Just finished ME1 yesterday night and this trailer makes me realise how static it still was compared to what they can do in ME2 and especially now.
Oh, this made waiting even harder.

And I really like the new fenShep as well. way better than the old default IMO and I don't think she looks too young or barbie-like or whatever people were saying.

I'm disappointed. After seeing a perfectly done default female character we had in Dragon Age 2, I expected MUCH much better from BioWare.

I think the vast vast majority agree.   A couple of daft posts here and there certainly arnt going to take away the overwhelming success this clearly is!    Best trailer by a long long way!  I may also add the new femshep is fantastic!!!

Just don't pay heed to any of those posts. FemShep finally got her well deserved well done tribute and today one big battle is won. Enjoy your success as FemShep and don't pay heed to petty souls... there will be always posts like that. The only shame is that some people don't realise that miracle actually occured. For the first time male and female hero of one game are standing side by side as equals and it is wonderful. And it all happened thanks to both male and female players and BW - even Clara Zetkin would be proud. And the good thing is - who cares how default Shepards look anyway, we all have our own unique ones.

Excellent trailer. I look forward to playing with my custom Renegade FemShep more than the default one though.

That said, the default FemShep looks good (perhaps not what I'd expect out of a seasoned commander... but good nonetheless).

The trailer was great. I will be importing from ME1/2 so how the default looks is not that important to my game. Can always import a canon Jane from ME2 to compare if curious.
Does anyone know if we will be able to tweak existing chars or if we need to start from scratch to make changes?

Seeing the super brief glimpses of Miranda and Samara made me realize how damn excited I am to get this game. =D

She's a bad goth and not in a good way either. I really hate her eye shadow and weather its black or red her hair still look terrible. She's almost like the space version of Joli and I'm not a Joli fan either.

That really was the best trailer we have seen so far and there have been some good ones the last few days.  Also saw a return the citadel tower.  Can't wait to return the airquotes.
