Why? Gears of War 3 was a good game story not so much...Ghost Lightning wrote...
Well, I saw curb stomping and a hammer of dawn type weapon in this trailer. Obviously ME3 is pandering to the GoW crowd. Pre-order cancelled....
So what if ME3 used some of that stuff in their game?
I like it because it took what was good in Gears of War 3 and added a much better story here in ME3.
I guess you might as well sell all your movies since movies copy one another in the form of one liners etc.

but those one liners didn't come from a specific movie. This is clear pandering to a point and click crowd. Can't take this anymore. Woe is me!

We thought it would be fun to make FemShep a counter to the goody two-shoes male Shepard who wants to save the day Luke Skywalker style.

Aside from the makeup/no makeup squabbles (personally, I couldn't care less about the makeup debate, gotta make the characters look good while they're kicking butt), I think most of the criticism has been constructive. Sure, they might be details...but detail is what we love about the ME universe in the first place. FemShep is coming under scrutiny for her looks because BioWare has made a big deal about making her look better for ME3, even going so far as to have the fans help them choose. I personally think it's fantastic that they took the time to do this for FemShep and the fans, I really do.
However, that doesn't change the fact that she doesn't look quite right. She doesn't look real at all, especially not next to face model-rendered characters like broShep, Samara, and Miranda. It's not even a matter of sexy/not sexy...I want her to look realistic, but I really don't see it with what I saw in the trailer today. I also feel genuinely bad about saying that, because I know a lot of work went into her, but it was a swing and a miss. Granted, I've grown more used to her, but at some angles she still looks really unnatural.
Default FemShep is the public face of female Commander Shepard. I always use CC and create my own Shepards, but my Shepard isn't the one on all the posters or in the official trailer. That's why fans care so much about how default femShep looks. Or, at least that's why I care.
In any case, I absolutely love femShep and always consider her to be the "real" Shepard. Jennifer Hale really brings the character to life for me, and I absolutely love how it immerses me into the experience. FemShep has deserved this kind of recognition for a long time, and I'm glad that she not only got her own trailer, but was equally distributed with broShep in the most recent trailers. I commend BioWare for being so dedicated to their fans and listening to our feedback, and I commend those who have worked so hard to get femShep the recognition she deserves. I love the artwork that the fans chose for femShep's new look, and I was looking forward to seeing how it would translate onto the screen... I guess that's a big part of my disappointment with her final look in-game.
*Shrug* That's my take. I hope it doesn't make me a hater.
thanks for posting!Jessica Merizan wrote...

Awesome.
I don't suppose anyone at BW has "closest fit" slider values for ME2 or ME1?
You are not alone! =D We should all think about starting a support group or something. Make a channel on Youtube with fan videos to MJ’s “Never Can Say Goodbye”… stuff like that. Because at this rate, by tomorrow my canon Femshep will be but sweet memories…Em23 wrote...
It's bittersweet - I really like my femshep but this one is so great I may have to play default...
