Lots of newcomers to Mass Effect are going to get confused over this, and pick stupid choices like "Action". Then they'll come and rage at these forums.

EDIT:
Now, people, hold your horses. I still can't imagine this is still up, but regardless, after having many laughs reading these posts, some were very interesting and demonstrated my point.
I understand I may have overreacted a bit, and i apologize for my reckless actions.

I have read many arguments for this implementation and though I am agaiinnnnssssstt it,
I see some of them as valid. For my part this is a cop-out by Bioware to try and attract more customers, which I understand, it is a business, but as artist I would have liked to have seen more integrity for their work. Separating the game into modes so that players can skip what they don't want to see is, to me, the equivalent o a painter covering up or altering part of their masterpiece to appease the masses and in turn, specific crowds as they come and go. Imagine if Leonardo da Vinci had covered up the Mona Lisa's smile for those who found it disturbing. I disagree with this plan of action but I understand it, though not it's necessity. I pray that this does not become a trend in gaming as business interest have been sapping on the blood of passion for far too long.
My problem with this system is that most people who'll actually buy ME3 because of all those flashy-trailers, won't know how good the classic Mass Effect experience is.
Lots of people will be missing out on great experiences, like customizing your arsenal, seeing different outcomes at once, and the story itself, which BioWare has spent many years tailoring.
I can agree with the need of a "Story" only mode with easier combat.
But then again, why do we have difficulty levels? To make difficult situations easier, and for some, appreciate the story.
My point is that these modes are completely unecessary. It's just a bunch of useless non-directly-forced streamlining.
