I'm not actually convinced this is a bug but it should be. For any search, the results are pushed down on the results page to make room for the Recent and Most Active Members columns. I'd suggest simply removing the two columns from that page because I can't imagine what they're doing there.
Also, the search bar (the one at the top of the forums with the magnifying glass and the big, orange Go button) triggers everytime it loses focus, whether you write anything or not. It's very frustrating; it should only trigger when you ask it to.
