Seems Squadmates will be wearing helmets, with an option to have them off during conversations.

I hope they have more than two dialogue choices on the wheel in the final game. Other than that and the perma squad im sure ill be satisfied.

Man is old.  Give him a break.  But he can still spank Shepard most likely.  LOL!

Guess I won't be taking Liara into my squad when the game ships...don't want to make things too easy for ourselves, now do we?

I have a question to the lucky ones

Is there more than just 3 power hotkeys? Kinda like in DA 2?
Thanks!!!

Nope. Y, LB and RB are still there.

Anyway, beat it on Insanity. Fun, but clunky. It will take time to get used to flipping around everywhere and having so many effing commands set to A. sprint, cover, flip - really?

Good demo, knew what I'd get out of it. Time to play it over and over now.

Yeah, the clunkiness of the movement is what bothered me.  Way different from ME2.

I was doing well on Insanity until I got to the Atlas fight.  It soon became more a matter of fighting the controls than fighting the actual enemies.

Yep, sounds are good, environments also, and effects (still loving singularity plus warp).
One more thing, though - hope the bit of the in-game options menu that currently says 'manual' and is greyed out will say 'codex' in the finished product. If not, then :crying: and also <_<, to say the least. It's not Mass Effect without the codex!

Warp and singularity are battle winners in this demo.  Singularity especially for the guys with shields.

Shepard moves too slow at the default movement speed compared to ME2.

Yeah, it does seem to be of a bit too casual a pace and sprinting is a bit hard to control at times when dodging obstacles.

I'm sure it's just a learning curve thing but the rolling about thing is giving me a little trouble.  Hasn't killed me yet but it has made a few fights more trouble than they'd otherwise.  Just a little more practice.

was lucky enough to have someone PM me a code.

The demo was amazing .Music was top notch particulary for me the music when vega ,shepard, and anderson are heading to the commitee and all throughout the salarian level (anyone posted the music on youtube yet?)

Face animations are in my view better then its prequels. You can see the emotion in shepard when anderson tells him/her to go without him and when the child dies. Both default shepards look amazing .

Squad banter is great . The cutscene although short was good as it was fun seeing liara, wrex, and garrus talk. For instance wrex's respect for liara and garrus joking with wrex. Mark meer and jeniffer hale were both great and alough Meer was always good in ME2 you can really see that he has upped his game. Jen is great as always. she seems to just nail some lines for example when wrex does a krogan airdrop from the shuttle shepard shouts Wrex in a oh for christ sake's sake kinda way if you get me whereas Meer would just shout Wrex (not that's bad). Shepard takes on more of a leader role. its great seeing him/her telling garrus and liara to "keep up the pressure" and to " keep them the hell away from the female" Mordin was great , his replacement VA is pretty damn good.

The atmosphere was great. I know many roll their eyes when bioware prattles on about galactic war but you can really feel it . salarians dieing , cerberus troopers dropping out of shuttles, wrex getting chased by gunships, meeting the salarian captain again , reapers decimating the city, alliance perssonel scrampling to their posts in preperation for the invasion flaming depris falling from the sky, and a dreadnaught locked in battle with a reaper

Going to keep combat analysis short as im tired. played normal hardcore
in and out of cover is easier and more fluid then ME2 by a long shot although it takes some getting used to. weapons sound amazing. that i cannot empathise enough and with all guns you can feel their punch. cooldowns become too long especially if you are not a soldier but i feel once you dump some of the weapons that will be remedied.

The AI is great . Cerberus troops are relentless and are always dogging for you but do not come across as dumb (looking at you uncharted) . to survive you have to move around constantly . The cerb turrets and engineer was tougher than the atlas as i died at least 6 times. Squad AI is good as they can really help you. I saw liara save me constantly with her singularity and garrus with his ammo piercing rounds(never thought id see liara pistol whip someone)

ask any Q. played both genders and played soldier, sentinal, and vanguard

yeah i loved the demo one thing i could hate  was the damn b button being configured to be used for omni blade and physical attack, i would not have put the powers for team mates on the side of the faces  and the button with the biotic power i was playing infiltrator and i kept hitting the damn stealth button, but everything else was topnotch.. the cover command was kinda tricky if you go for cover and end up trying to move for cover you could end up in cover behind a enemy  regardless of trying to move  away you would be out in the open while in cover by trying to move the camera would often face you and  would be messed up if you trying to move away to get the camera behind shep again i would like to see the camera become forced to look where shepard is looking  and not become orbital movment camera

Just encountered an amusing glitch. Playing as an Infiltrator and get to the part where you are fending of Cannibals waiting for the Normandy, when you turn cloak on some Cannibals zoom across the battlefield(from the left to the right) super speed.

I just played the demo 2 times. The first time was with a Soldier, the second time with a Vanguard.

The first thing I noticed when I started playing is: Hey, this is a lot like Gears of War! I like it!

Mass Effect has gone more into the GoW direction when it comes to moving around on the battlefield. Combat-rolling, jumping, leaping, storming/sprinting, moving in and out of cover, it all felt very GoW-like. This is is a very good thing and don't get me wrong, I love it, BUT....

Mass Effect 3 is a lot faster than Gears of War... A LOT faster. Shepard moves twice as fast as Marcus Fenix (the protagonist of GoW) and the enemies move in on your position a lot faster than the Locust (the enemies in GoW) do.

This makes Mass Effect 3 incredibly hard to master, even on 'Normal' difficulty. ME3's combat is frantic and exhausting and it takes some getting-used-to, even for a GoW veteran like me, no, especially for a GoW veteran like me, because Mass Effect clearly isn't GoW and the game quickly reminded me of that fact when I forgot to use my powers. When I simply tried to shoot down all the enemies GoW-style, without using my powers, I got ass-raped real quickly. Mass Effect 3 forces you to use your powers smart and effectively. Without using your powers to the max, you're not going to survive combat in ME3, not even on 'Normal'.

That's my 2 cents. Does anyone who played the demo agree or disagree with me?

That said, I was a bit disappointed that a lot of cutscenes and dialogue are cut from the demo. Back in november I saw the "leaked beta" and it had a lot more cutscenes and a lot more dialogue. But I understand why BioWare had to cut some footage from the demo, the demo is already 1,7GB big!

i have to  agree me3 will be more skill based playing  and not spaming this  skill over and over to win a fight i loved with exception to the darn b button and camera and dive for cover problems, but the game is fast paced an you actually got to choose what way youw anted to go with how you wished to play in what style action, rpg and story i took rpg and it  seemed to be seamless

Yes I obviously played the RPG mode too. Forgot to say that.

But hey, I don't think anyone on this forum would prefer anything else over RPG mode.
