You have to guess what the question mark stands for - it can be any number 0-9, or any letter A-Z.

Yes, you have to guess the letter/number. Open the marketplace in your browser, that way you can go through all the possibilities for each code really fast.

The question mark is the missing letter or number

Example: 2RH43-TCG74-2VQQQ-P43RQ-CX?9Z

that equals: 2RH43-TCG74-2VQQQ-P43RQ-CXJ9Z

Log onto the Xbox website, type the code in the 'redeem code' bit once and then just keep highlighting and changing the blank character.
