I might have bought it for novelty's sake had it been a race of Manari, but as it was? The Asari definitely missed a huge potential culture-issue by having Asari react to Asari-Human similarity. Given the Asari taboo on Asari-Asari relationships, the visual similarities should have easily given rise to unease about Asari-Human bonds..

I like this.  This is a massive, unused opportunity.  I could easly forgive the fanservice nature of asari if there was more of a "WTF??!"  reaction on the asari's behalf to suddenly running across an alien race that looks so much like them(they are the older race by lore)

Maybe an extranet news blurp about the catholic church flipping out over an asari researcher hypothesising a common ancestor.

or maybe an overheard conversation along the lines of :   "yeah, the females are pretty when they shave that fur off their heads.  But the males are just so...   creepy.  Like some kind of mutant asari from one of the cheesy old horror vids we watched as children"

Most Hated would be the batarians, although thats more of hating their culture that embraces slavery and piracy than batarians as a whole.   The fact that one decided to run with garrus on his suicidal mission to clean up omega shows there are moral ones out there.

I completely agree, but in all honesty we humans probably would have been no different from the quarian, because lets face it at the site of  a sentient machine the first thing we would have done is to shut it down. The fear of technology turning against us is almost deeply-bed in us since the terminator or sci-fi movies, the quarian reacted simply out that fear, John Connor from terminator tried to Stop Sky-net from becoming sentient does that make a bad person?

Batarians. Is there a single Batarian who isn't an a-hole in all of the games? The only one that comes to mind is the sick on on Mordin's recruitment mission, but even then he still hates you unless you save his life.

I actually love the Batarians.

Not the A-hole pirate/merc/thugs Shepard always runs into. They left the safety of their homeworld to become criminals and outcasts according to their own traditions. But the Batarians on their homeworld are most likely good people, or at least, interested in survival. And probably (in my opinion) going to be one of Shepard's least expected and most helpful allies.

Non-Intelligent Race: Vorcha (ugly, dumb, swarming mooks)
Council Race: Volus. Throughout the period of Mass Effect as a whole, i've only met one genuinely likeable Volus, and that's Niftu'Cal (alias of the BIOTIC GOD). And he can die on a Renegade playthrough.
The rest of the Volus (Voluses? Voli?) we've met have either been crooks (Pitne'For) or just generally douchebags (that one harassing the Quarian on the Citadel). I find them, based on what i've seen, to be even more unlikeable than the Batarians.

Batarians and vorcha, but only because Bioware seems to make every one of them exactly the same. Meaning they're just mindless bad guy-types with little personality.

My my my, so much hatred... For me it's none. I would even like the Reapers if the weren't so driven wiping out all life in the galaxy. Every race has it's place in the ME universe in one way or another. Why should I hate them? It's like Kaiden said in ME1: "Every race has saints and jerks."
