In all honesty I thought Ash had a sort of reserved prettiness in ME1 and 2 that was very nice. But I don't care how she looks. First she gives me **** on Horizon, then she's all like I still love you. And now she pulls a 'I used to know him'. That **** will not fly.

Well one the ME3 demo you can't import your Shepard and so it doesn't assume any romance is involved, given her normal dialogue.  For all we know it could be different facial expressions and dialogue for romanced.

Also you aren't considering Ashley's side about what happened to her the two years Shep has been dead.  If you are that shallow not to listen to her then I suppose you got what you deserved.

Unless the game shoves her ass into your face like Miranda in ME2, then no, it's not a huge deal.

I agree. It's ridiculous in a way, but not something we haven't seen before in Mass Effect.

It may be something we've seen before...but it's not something that fits the character....thats kinda the point.

Well, obviously someone bought her dinner for her to wear a tinfoil skirt and thigh-high boots.

No...Bioware just ret-coned that dialogue outta exsistence I think.

"Can't see her in a skirt anyhow"

"Damn straight you can't"

yea...I think they totaly ignored that...

If you remember, Ash stumbled over that line. Indicating she was "trying" to keep up her tomboy image.

I prefer this new improved ashley way before the old version, especially with the long hair that isn't tied in a knot

Blue pants and a long tunic don't fit Ashley? Did she ever imply or explicitly state that she'd never wear blue pants, thighhigh boots, and a longer-than-typical tunic? If so, I'd like you to show me where she said that. Reminds me of the first time my friend saw me in a skirt. "I thought you didn't like skirts." What, because I wear skinny jeans most of the time? How does that discount the possibility of me liking skirts?

(I'm not trying to say that she's wearing a skirt; it's not a skirt, just long torso attire)

Didn't bother me even when she had white pants. I'm pretty apathetic in regards to most things, however.

How does whether or not Ashley wears makeup relate whatsoever to her character, by the way? You can be a roughandtumbler and still do up your face.

Its not worth arguing over Xara, they are entrenched in what they see is Ashley's personality from how she was portrayed in ME1. It's their right to be angry over the change in look and personality to accompany that look.

However, I like to believe Ash in ME1 only showed her military-mode as I like to call it and never showed her in a more relaxed or civilian attire and setting. This new look represents her character going in a new unique direction and fleshing out the sides of her that aren't all military-esque and regulation.

I like to think Shepard's influence caused her to let her hair down, both literaly and metaphorically.

bravo Bioware, Just Bravo. Ive not had a single ill thing to say about ME3. Ive always had complete and total faith in the quality of the product your guys are turning out. The hard work Casey and the rest of the team have done to please us, the fans, should be commended by us all.

The way some of you use such demeaning terms for Ashley is just unbelievable. I look at her in the demo and I see NOTHING provocative or overly sexy about her at all. How people can calling her ****ty or a prostitute or whatever is completely beyond me. Shes covered head to toe with a VERY slight bit of her chest showing. Hanging out on the BSN just further proves to me that a staggering amount of people were raised in a puritan manner. I really cannot fathom how else they could say Ashley's look is overly sexed up otherwise.

But anyway, I digress. Again, AMAZING job to all the guys working on ME3. It might not mean much coming from me, just one of the many millions of fans you have globally, but I am honored to have experienced this series and proud of everything you have achieved.

It certainly wasn't a huge deal, but it was rather tasteless and disrespectful to the character. Although it's often blown way out of proportion it's still a legitimate gripe IMO.

Xavier, realistic body armor wouldnt have a boob window for enemies to target. A shot there would insta-kill anyone that isnt Krogan. The butt window draws unnecessary attention to her inflated behind.

Yeah and I see no reason to believe, given how lovingly sculpted it is and how much emphasis they put on it, and factoring in their track record that they wouldn't do just that.

That said I'm over it, the redesign is good as is her new armor. Bioware have finally remembered how to make a female character sexy without robbing her of dignity. So I'm ready to forgive Bioware for doing it, not quite ready to forget about it though.

I never quite understood this argument against Ashley having her hair in anything but a bun. Some people seem to think that people who are in the military look like they are in the military, 100% of the time. The reality isn't quite like that.

Ashley had her hair in a bun in Mass Effect 1 because she was an Alliance Marine on deployment with the SSV Normandy. Her hair was in a bun because that was probably the regulation for female Marines when in uniform, just as it is with females serving in the US Marines. When Ashley was assigned to Eden Prime and she had liberty (days off from work), she would have no doubt have been going out in the town in regular civilian clothing and with her hair down. We just don't see her like that in Mass Effect 1, because we always see her in an 'on duty' context.

There are times where going butch/tomboy just isn't the best option for a woman in certain situations. Like when meeting high level officials.

Believe me, I know I'm stretching that ideas credibility to the maximum in this instance, but it's either I just RP that or accept BioWares official "she needs moar sexeh" response. I prefer the former.

And it's certainly not uncommon for "tough chicks" to dress feminine. I know a few.

See this is exactly my point ANY critisim of this appearence AT ALL is totaly dismissed and disregarded. No matter what it is...any opinion that isn't "OMG I LOVE HER NEW LOOK" is attacked like a pack of Jackles... I'm rather tierd of it... god forbid anyone have a differing opinion...or interpret a character differently than you did.

Was that directed at my response to you? Because I thought I was fairly civil. I disagree with you, but in no way did I 'attack' you or your viewpoint.

It is true however that if Ashley were to behave realistically (like Marines in the real world), when off duty she wouldn't be wearing a uniform or her hair in a bun. We only see in her in an on duty context.

Nice way to sum it up, she was assigned to the Normandy during ME1 and that is why she appeared in military attire.  ME3 she isn't so limited and the fact is she is even higher ranked and that might give some leeway in how she is allowed to dress (in the fictional universe).

@Adugan
She doesn't wear that clothing into combat, she has armor.
