Sure, the minor improvements to Ash are better than what they were before (eeyuch, getting rid of the white pants that gave massive butt-cleavage weirdness), but it's still what it is. A minidress cut REALLY high with thigh-highs sexytime footwear. It's not much of a uniform if we even try to call it a uniform. :P

Ultimately, I'm not interested in what is being sold here. Ash was never this kind of beauty queen soldier. Trying to make her into a sexy Miranda-esque chick now -- and the art devs in interviews have talked openly about 'sexing' up Ashley's new look, like it required this -- is just pointless to me.

Indeed.  Before Ash was hot without being an adolescent fantasy.

I wish Bioware would treat its fans like grownups rather than as horny teenagers.

And again, you say fans so easily when even the fanbase spawned from ME1 and 2 are conflicted on it.  BioWare is going with what sells and just tweaking it based on fan opinion, no matter how much they like their fans they take things in the direction they wish.  It sucks but that is just the way it is, they are a business after all.

Or maybe what hes trying to politely say is...too much of the fanbase is basiclly nothing but horny teenagers who don't seem to appriciate subtle beauty, or beauty of personality...since many seem to just think shes a total b****...and now that shes "Hot" their totaly willing to forgive her Image IPB

Well that's not something BioWare has under their control, they aren't going to keep her style just so those people can be spited and the minority are content. And I think most people who hate Ash still hate Ash, a new look isn't attracting anyone but new gamers to the series imo.

Neither side will be totally happy until they release alternate outfits for her that bring back her old look, but I don't see BW being in the wrong here.

LOOKIE HERE.

Around the 7:15 mark or so.

They fixed the white bits of her outfit, her face textures, added to the facial animation, and I can say that whoever still had doubts and concerns about Ashley looking all herpderpderp from the beta leak can rest easy now.

WOOHOO.

She's behind the 10 inches of makeup and the 10 years of working of working on the corner of Shady Blvd and Trash Street.

You'd think people have never heard of a woman wanting to look beautiful before. For most women, that means makeup.

Welcome to the human race.

Actually, I don't dislike the new look all that much, I kind of like the hair being down. However, while she still looks like ashley (with a lot of makeup), I hope we have a costume change that is her original look - with eyeliner (the wierd skin-line thing in ME1 weirded me out.

I'm not saying Bioware is wrong...the message and meaning behind it is...and you would be suprised just how many comments I see that go like this. "Oh wow! she dont look like a man anymore! shes totaly hot! even though shes a total b**** I can totaly forgive her now!"

And besides....I VERY much doubt there will an appearence pack with the option to change this.

I don't begrudge Bioware trying to make more money...I really don't...I understand their a business and they have to go with "majority rules" even if the majority have s***y taste...I understand and respect this...but I don't respect is the blatent DISrespect for the characters themselves. yea yea sure "Their just game characters chill out loser" or w/e...but I don't see them that way...I don't see them as pixel's to just do with as I please...I see them as actual people in a deep and believeable world. And I see them being totaly changed and belittled simply because their not real and exsist for profit. if they wanted to continue to push the "sex sells" crap like the rest of the world does every waking moment of the day they shoulda just kept Miranda around.

She's a specter now. While she has a security clearance, and works side by side with the military, she's not going to be held to military protocol or standards anymore than Shepard was in ME1. Being technically still in the alliance is just a technicality. She can now dress however she wants, and could even tell Admirals to go to hell too, although she's too professional to do that unless its absolutely necessary.

Someone should totally tell this to Kaidan.

Kaidan isn't a woman.^_^

Xavier, realistic body armor wouldnt have a boob window for enemies to target. A shot there would insta-kill anyone that isnt Krogan. The butt window draws unnecessary attention to her inflated behind.

Thats all well and good, but that ISNT HER ARMOR.  Thats just a casual outfit.  Look at the location she is wearing the outfit.  It isnt a battlefield.  Everyone around her is wearing their casual military attire.  Should Ash be walking the halls of the Alliance headquarters in full blown armor?  Should she be wearing armor wherever and whenever??

I call her Pornstar Ashley. And it is a damn serious compliment, too! Seriously though, I think she got Miranda-fied in all the right ways.

True enough.

His outfits aren't required to look "stylish" or "have sex appeal" as part of the criteria.;)

I dunno...i still dont even see whats so sexually appealing about her new outfit, but then again im not a Quaker.  Its a form fitting outfit showing zero skin.  Its just brimming with sexual appeal....*sarcasm

I'm not saying much of the  fanbase necessarilly thinks that.  Just that Bioware seems to be assuming that' we are.  We already have the genetically engineered hottie for those that are into that sort of thing.  Can't we have a character who looks and acts a bit more like a regular human being?

Ash already had a particular iconic "look" why change it now?  It's not going to really change the minds of those who already hate her, no matter how much you glam her up.  In the end, it smacks of shameless pandering.  "Lookit what we did to Ash!  Isn't it AWESOME?"

Yeah, her face looks better. I can't say I made that tiny white emblem either way, though.

They have really improved on her from the demo leak ... the look that she gives at 7:33 is great and really shows where they have improved on eyes and emotion. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the cross-eyed look is gone from her and others as well. So far, so good ... although what's up with Shepard's arms in the demo ... now they look odd.

Back to Ash ... Love the more mature look, hair down and looking forward to having her back on the Normandy. Image IPB
