Even if gun control were stricter, he'd probably be able to register a hand gun. The problem here is that he's the type of person who sees guns as cool toys instead of a lethal weapon that's only to be used for protection or hunting.

I assume he's also the type to get drunk on the Fourth of July and shoot wildly into the air.

What exactly do you base this on? There is no indication whatsoever that he has a trivial additude about gun safety.

Also, guns have more uses than hunting and protection with Skeet shooting and accuracy contests being the most common gun sports.

He sounds like a raving lunatic. I don't think he has any business being a parent at all, much less being called "best parent ever."

It doesn't sit well with me that people are commending this maniac for badly scolding his daughter over posting a petty rant on her Facebook, pulling out a handgun (!) and blowing eight holes in her laptop, then posting the video online for everyone on the Internet to see.

I think the authorities should be informed about this. I wouldn't trust this madman to take care of a Bratz doll, nevermind a 15-year-old kid.

Yeah, police need to crack down hard on people that shoot inanimate objects. Especially when these madmen don't violate a single law.

Are you serious?

This guy has a DANGEROUS anger problem. To get so worked up over his daughter venting about doing chores that he uses a HANDGUN to destroy her laptop, then humiliates her in front of MILLIONS of people by posting a video of it online?

This man is out of control. No form of child discipline should in any way whatsoever involve a FIREARM. That's a serious red flag against one's capability to properly parent a child.

And posting a video of it online is even worse. He just turned his daughter into a humiliating Internet meme for people everywhere to mock and guffaw at. She'll have carry that embarrassment around with her for the REST of her life.

All because she complained about doing chores on her Facebook page. To call it "a little harsh" is the understatement of the century. This man is a horrible father. The only way he could possibly be worse is to beat and/or molest her.

Which, for all we know, he may very well already do. I wouldn't put it past someone with a severe anger problem like he does to smack his daughter around on a regular basis.

No, taking her laptop away from her for a while would have more than sufficed as a punishment. What he did goes beyond reasonable punishment to the point of being outright abuse.

I think he should have his parental rights stripped. He doesn't deserve to have a daughter if he's going to treat her this badly.

You're right. Forget about all the kids put on the street by their parents for drug money. The guy shooting the dirt is far more dangerous.

Oh, so because there are worse parents out there, this guy should get off the hook, right?

False. A bad parent is a bad parent. Period.

Figures the politically correct people would storm out this place.

How is he a bad parent for actually being one? Apparently if you actually want to discipline in a way THAT ACTUALLY WORKS, you deserve to go to the authorities?

A gun is not needed to discipline one's children. And if anyone's being a drama queen here it's daddy and his 45.

"Politically correct"? Are you joking?

And how does this punishment "actually work"? Do you have any proof or examples you can cite proving that emptying a handgun into a laptop and humiliating your daughter in front of the entire world is a suitable punishment for complaining about doing chores?

I don't think you people really appreciate the scope of how bad this is. Kids are going to rebel. It's part of raising kids on your end, and part of growing up on theirs. If you're too incompetent to appropriately handle a little rebellion from them, then you have zero business raising kids.

Kids aren't personal property for you to use and abuse as you please. They're human beings, just like you. So unless you're willing to treat them as such, please refrain from having them.

Comparing shooting a laptop to child abuse is an insult to children that have actually been abused by their parents.

I love how you people get hung up on the shooting of the laptop, but gloss over the fact that he just made a mockery of his own daughter in front of the entire world.

That is no parent. No parent who really gave a damn about their child would be so cruel as to crucify them before millions of people like that, especially over something as petty as whining about chores. It's monstrous.

That he emptied a handgun into her laptop is just frosting on the cake.

It's clear this man wasn't really intending to punish his daughter. He was in it for revenge. He took a petty rant so personally that he let his anger push him to do something unthinkably vile and cruel.

But you know what the worst part of all is? How many people are supporting this guy. No one in their right mind would do as this man did. It scares me that so many people commend his actions.

Never have kids, people. I don't think you have what it takes to raise any.

I know you believe yourself to be clever, but unfortunately you have grossly overanalyzed the actions of this man.

He's a ******. Any smart person wouldn't destroy a laptop. I mean, really?

Though it was a pretty badass way to teach your kid a lesson. Just really stupid.

Anyway . It's normal teenager take a lot of their stuff for granted. They take for granted  'my parents'  will do it for me because eh .. it's their Job .. This is what taking something for granted is. They see the trash bin full .. Well mommy will do  so why should I do it? it's a normal process  which every human go through.

Than you have the eternal 'I never asked to be born'. Sometime you need to give them a reality check without flooding them with the 'authority syndrome' and boring ass long lecture of what 'real' life is.

Parent of today are so overprotective . it's started with suburb. Creating a false illusion of protection and perfection . The American Dream my ass . Teenager feel trapped in a life they don't consider their own . Parents aren't  perfect  and should always understand what their teen go through has their grow up.

Most of the time this rebellous behavior goes away when kids move out and start their own life or accept their place in the world.

Wrong. He ought to deal with it. You're supposed to set an example for your kids, not make an example of them.

His incompetent, abusive parenting makes me sick. He ought to be ashamed of himself for what he's done to his daughter, but I can see he's rejoicing in his "sweet vengeance" too much to really care.

He's an adult, damn it. He should man up and act like one.

Really? Having my ass beat infront of my friends on parent teachers night when I was young is a whole lot worse. Frankly this is much more funnier and embarrassing but a good lesson.

LOL. Respect should be earned, not freely given. And treating your children in such a cruel, oppressive manner will earn you no respect from them. Only fear and hatred.

It happens far too often. Parents who raised their kids with an iron fist, treating them like second-class citizens and showing them about as much love and care as a rabid wolf.

Then their kids grow up and hate their guts, and they have the audacity to wonder why. They earned every last drop of the resentment and disrespect they got.

Spare me your childhood stories. Your punishment wasn't broadcast in front of millions of people worldwide.  If you can't recognize this most obvious of points, then you and I have nothing more to say.
