I was wondering if anyone else starts a new game if their entire party dies ?

That's too extreme for me. I've heard of people who do that on other games, but with DA:O's long Origins and the Ostagar/Lothering portion of the game being EXACTLY the same everytime.. I couldn't manage playing through the same 6-7 hours of content just to get to something fresh everytime I die (though admittedly it doesn't happen very often with proper planning, even on Hard/Nightmare).

Why would anyone start ALL the way over to a new game when everyone gets knocked unconscious? You just start back where ever you saved last(its smart to save often while playing). Also thats what injury kits are used for,to heal wound's you recieve from being unconscious.Thier is no real death for the OC or his companions so your post is totally ridiculous.

I only restart when my PC dies since I want to keep him alive the entire time. The others just get injury kits.

Agree with Phanto, that's just nuts. Hours and hours of content that you've already played through gone to waste? I already waste enough time playing video games!

well I only do it when the entire party dies at once. Since in theory even if they were just knocked out the mobs would then kill us all as we laid there.  Use to do it when i played BG/BGII as well  took forever to get all the way through the game

actually it is not totally ridiculouse it is just a different way to play than you do.  As for injury kits  they do no good if your entire party has died.  Your only options are to start a saved game or start again.  I would pointout that once you have played through the game  you have to start all over again as it is unless that is totally ridiculous to you as well.

Yup, thats the only way I can play a game, its called "iron man mode" I believe, I already wrote a post about it ... but people thought I was silly, glad to have a few likeminded roleplayers.

I finished the game first time with an elementalist mage without partywipeouts and very close to finishing the second time without maincharacter dying ... it was my second goal.

It would not be fun for me, but if it's fun for you, then carry on. I can't imagine having a go at a boss character on nightmare and restarting 60hours of gameplay just because my entire party gets stunned for 10 seconds and can't do anything.

I dont think any of us playing "iron mode" would do it on hard or nightmare. I´ve used the normal setting constantly.

Yeah I would normally do that as a challenge, Iron Man mode sounds sick, but with the way I forget things (for reasons I wont discuss) I just would have to reset sooo many times that I would never get to beat the game XD. Still if I ever got a bunch of peeps do a lan party it would be a cool challenge. Who will beat the game the fastest on Nightmare with no party wipes. XD

It's a new challenge and it demands perfection I'm pretty sure they're aware they could reload an old save, that's not the point. Kudos if you can do it, I'm not crazy enough to do an iron man quite yet.

Anyone remember Diablo II's hardcore mode on Battle.net? If your character died, at any time, for any reason, it was instantly and irrevocably gone for good, along with all your equipment and inventory.

Look at it this way. By the time he finishes the game and all the inevitable future DLC and expansions, DA2 will be right around the corner. :)
