I was trying to install EasyTutu when it told me that area 4300 was missing.

Area 4300
It has been like this forever for me:
Extreme lag on this map
Computer starts an infinite loop when I leave it 90% of the time continuosly asking for me to switch between Disc 2 and Disc 3.

It has been like this for as long as I can remember and I thought it was just a part of the game. I bought the game in 1999 and it is fully updated. I am wondering however, if there is a file I can download somewhere that fixes this problem? It is only this map that gives me these issues.

I've been looking for the last day and a half and couldn't find a site with specific areas to download.

Edit
Well, I looked for it in the file directory and couldn't find it in data so I went into CD 2 and copied it to that exact folder.

Error Copying File or Folder.
Cannot copy AREA4300: Data error (cyclic redundancy check).

Cyclic redundancy check is the disc (usually) or the disc drive (uncommon) has failed to function as expected.

I’m going to assume you have already tried cleaning your disc... go across the grain not around when you wipe them so that leaves;

1.    Try using a different disc drive, possibly on a friend’s computer to copy/ paste the file across onto something like a usb stick... if this works then you are up for a new disc drive soon.

2.    Download a torrent with the file you need... (not recommended but it is an option) they are around but I won’t discuss that stuff on this open forum except to say that under the copywright laws in my country (Australia) you are legally entitled to make/ acquire backups of the files you need on  software that you have legally purchased.

3.    Purchase the game again, from GoG for $10 dollars you get the expansion all fully patched and ready to play without the need to worry about having a disc in your drive... this is what I recommend.

1. This area glitches on every computer that we have ever had the game on.

2. ((I'm doing that. ;) I'll only take AREA4300 from it. It's taking it's sweet time though. 5% more to go and it says it has another hour to go. After that I'll install EasyTutu and get along with attempting a solo monk.))

3. I'm not going to do this because I am not going to pay $10 for a map you go to once. Now, if the entire game was glitching out, that would be different.

It's not a good idea to admit to using torrents on an official company forum, as it can get you banned. Please be mindful of this. I understand that you own the game and you're attempting to fix a glitch, though, so I'll let it pass.

I understand that. The only reason I used it is because I already have all 6 of the Baldur's Gate 1 discs and that map was damaged because of a scratch I guess((Maybe one of the hundreds is deeper than the rest?)). I also posted that I did here so people would know that I fixed my problem.
