I PM'ed Brenon Holmes about the hairstyles in the demo asking if there were options in the full game that weren't in the demo (as I recall Casey and a few devs tweeting that ME3 would have longer hairstyles). From what he told me, what is in the demo may be what we have to choose from in the full game. (he hasn't played the demo himself though, so not sure).

I sent him a reply with a couple pics of the hair selection. Awaiting a reply from him on it.

The short style that's from the previous games though is a lot better looking now at least. No longer looks like a head full of metal springs but rather a proper short style. Just sad the super short one from this picture isn't in.

I would like some longer hair styles for femshep, the one Crimsonnephilim posted has been the only long hair style femshep has been able to have in the series and it's kind of ugly. Why can't we have the option to have Ashley's or Miranda's style hair? I do hope the one in the OP is in though, but I didn't see it in the demo.

I enjoy creating tomboy'ish femsheps, and this hairstyle would've fit right in. The longer ones look weird when FemShep is wearing armor... except for the standard renegade haircut everyone seems to use. <_<

I find it a bit odd that the one they gave the default femshep isn't an option. After the videos they put out with Ashley in them and the FB voting on the femsheps, you'd think they would have anticipated that players were going to want those hairstyles in the game as options.

Nice to see I'm not the only one here, when I have to create a character like Shepard I prefer to make the female version tomboy-ish and capable-looking. Shes a soldier!
But the long girly hairstyles kills it for me, and I'm kind of hesitant to use the supershort buzzcut on my import.
I still don't know why they haven't put the hairstyle into the game, so many different long styles and only a single short one. It doesn't make any sense.

Yes. There is a short cut with curls, basically the old one with a bit more fluff.

The short boyish hairstyle that was already in ME2 seems to have been improved considerably for ME3
