link me to where someone at bioware said that alliance ship is a dreadnought.
also go back and actually think that line though that the VS said.

Here yeah go.

Exactly what I quoted is there.

By the way, nothing in the ME1 codex says what a cruiser or dreadnought looks like. They use the same pictures. And the ME2 version doesn't have pictures.

So I don't know where your source is confirming what's what.

As for the lore isn't, I honestly don't care if it's an error. It looked cool, and that's all that matters to me.

thanks for the link.
i conceded
and i did look cool

Surprised someone noticed something like that. Never really read much of the Codex so it didn't matter to me.

Now I don't this.

If the lines were pre recorded and couldn't be changed...  Just don't use them.

There you go, problem solved.

They wouldn't be missed and the scene would still have the same impact without them.

It's not as simple as not using the lines. The ship itself is there too, and still is what they call it.

No, by not addressing it by any classification removes the issue entirely. Cruisers and dreanoughts can be in atmosphere, the issue has been that the ship is too small to be a dreadnought. Don't call it one, no problem.

please this is nothing! if you want lore errors buy Mass Effect deception!

i second that. i was so mad after i finished that frikkin excuse for a book.

the blatant disregard for EVERYTHING in that book.
the characters and there relations and "there place" in "me universe" and towards other characters was screwed up  beyond FUBAR...
and dont get me started on the end...
was the author tired of the characters and the book in the last chapters?,
or just felt like he wanted to be mean to the readers, and why the hell did it turn into frikkin starwars in the end!?!?!..

letting someone else than Drew write it was the Dumbest thing ever done, since atleast he would have  had the characters keep there consistantcy to there nature and place.

if you ever let that HACK write another ME book or in anyway be a part of ANYTHING ME I for one will Not take anypart in reading playing that AT ALL. and im pretty frikkin sure anyone thats read the books agree.

(lack of pointing out specifics in the book is my attempt to avoid spoilers.)

(sry for the off topic, but the book was the biggest "let-down" in my last 10 years of reading, just direct me to correct place to talk about the book. lol )

According to the wiki, Dreadnoughts can range from 1k-800k long and can't "safely land". So, it seems like they CAN land, it's just not a good idea, but they can at least enter atmo. As far as the reaper gun not cutting through it like butter, I'd say A) it looks like a MUCH smaller reaper then Sovereign, B) it might have just been taking pot-shots at it because, hey, no use really wasting the main gun, it's probably having some fun and "toying" with it's prey, and C) mostly so it could be timed to explode right when you got to a certain point.

Hate to requote, but some people can't get the message. Check the link out for the truth about it.

Those just linked me to the front page of this thread, which I was responding to.....did I miss something?

Was it the codex vs wiki thing?  If so, sorry, a friend is borrowing my copy of ME1 right now, so I can't really comment on the codex but, also, I tend to trust the wiki more anyway.  It pulls from different sources, so I just assume the first game has some errors or things they didn't fully think through but the lore got more established as the series went on.  Most of the time, the wiki does a good job of pointing out the differences between it and the codex, though.

I'm assuming that's what the codex says? If so, then it still doesn't say anything against entering atmo.

I just realized that it might sound like I'm just arguing to be a d*ck. If so, sorry, I'm honestly just curious. It's not really that big of a deal to me, so if it does say in the codex that they can't enter atmo then A) yeah, that's definitely a mistake and B) someone needs to fix the wiki.

Well, it's not like it was trying to land.

I don't think it was there voluntarily. Most likely it was forced down into the lower atmosphere trying to avoid crashing.

I can't find anything that says Dreadnoughts can't enter atmo...it seems the size of the ship seems the real issue..it seems too small to be a dreadnought....

Also I think Dreadnoughts can only engage in combat over imense distances...or is that just the role they are best suited to?

I think it is massive fail if they considered the ship to be a dreadnaught, but it is possible that the dreadnaught that Ashley/Kaidan was talking about wasn't even on the screen.
