 you can be shot while in cover to stop you from camping and the cover generally in the game (from what I've played) tends to be far from ideal so you need to push the enemy mercilessly while they do the same to you.

Don't some ammo powers like Garrus's AP ammo let you shoot through cover?  Does anyone know if enemies ever use ammo powers in ME3?  Anyway, even without them, I'm glad that cover isnt automatically blocking everything.  Even a 7.62 soviet will go through a surpising amount of brick/concrete, and mass effect weapons are throwing out quite a bit more firepower.

I hear ya. Beating the Atlas mech on Hardcore was tough as ****. Can't imagine doing it on Insanity.

It was hard as ****. I loved it. Probably not going with Insanity on the first playthrough, but there is nothing quite as satisfying as killing that mother****ing boss you died 143 times on.

I like that Insanity is actually closer to its namesake unlike in ME 1 where even on insanity you could be a soldier shock trooper and take rockets in the face and your health would barely move because of lol skills like immunity, or totally evade fire by just moving to the left.

Adept make it trivial... enemies with defenses are just not prepared to face biotic powers.

Good, I'd like to think I earned it after ME2 Insanity adept run. It was pretty unfogiving and bland of a play style. It's not the hardest game I ever played, but it was annoying enough and challening.

Insanity is the highest difficulty. You can always go lower.

Thats when you get creative, Me and my squad went to the area where you first came up the ladder and we went to town on the Atlas.I was an Infiltrator.Gets you a little breathing room, Didnt have to deal with the agents until after we took the mech down.

I'm the most badass person here (mostly because I refuse to acknowledge otherwise) and I stop listening to people when they start having the upper hand in an argument. Works magic to your hair too.

There is a pretty easy way to beat the Atlas mech on insanity.  Some might consider it a bit of an exploit *shrug*

* SPOILER *

When the fight starts move yourself and your squad back to the area by the ladder where you first came in.  Park your squad in the corner to the left of the stairs and hide behind the cover just to the left of the stairs.  This gives you good cover and the mech will almost never come to you.  The only thing you have to watch out for is when the Cerberus adds throw grenades at you.  If that happens run over to the ladder and hit A to go down.  If you place your squad right the grenades will not kill them.  Once the grenade goes off clime back up.  At this point the mech will have moved and you can take out the nearby adds with singularity and other powers.  The mech will come back and you can then kill him at your leisure

Insanity is best saved for NG+ when you're at max level with top weaponry.
