As far as the demo is concerned, Insanity was quite difficult on most of the classes I tried (and not difficult in an entertaining manner, just frustrating), except for Infiltrator, which was reasonable enough with Tier 5 Tactical Cloak.

Yeah, they made the game harder, in the STUPIDEST and laziest way possible - up the damage and increase enemy health hur hur hur drool. There are many other, more innovative ways to make the game more challenging, without resorting to such fast food methods. Like you know...countdown timers, less ammo, smarter enemies. Totally didn't expect BW to take a page from World of Warcraft difficulty design. And you wonder why that game is slowly dying.

What you'll end up doing in insanity is simply take cover more, just like in ME2. Stewpid

I agree this kind of changes is better, but this slowly dying? In which parallel world this is happening?

Well I just learned what "OTT" meant. Do we have to abbreviate everything these days people? I mean I know it's the age of the text, but seriously good god.

Even on hardcore I thought shields did next to nothing.

Enemies just have more hp and accuracy, but when you cant pop out for more than half a second there just doesnt seem to be a point

Insanity is fine in this game. If you think it is too hard, than don't play the hardest difficulty in the game.

Also I'm really interested in how it will play when we can actually have more freedom in our character build.

I've read about the reason cooldowns are so long in this demo due to carrying all weapons and the weight issue, but can anyone answer me why the soldiers adrenaline rush is so slow to cooldown please? I thought the soldier was supposed to be the only class without a weight penalty for carrying all weapons?

I've only played it as a soldier but I didn't find Insanity to be over the top hard.  Challenging certainly, but it didn't make me want to tear my hair out.  It was a little more frustrating for me personally as I usually play on PC, my aim sucks with a controller :pinched:, but it was very similar to other TPS so it wasn't too hard to get used too.  But besides that I was very pleased with how the enemies reacted and moved to my actions.  I died my first try at the turrets and realized I actually had to properly plan out my tactics and squad powers.  It didn't feel like enemies had bloated amounts of health and it was nice to see them quickly move or roll out of incoming fire.  The only thing that was really suprising was how quickly your shields and health went down under fire.  It seemed to be even faster than Insanity ME2 but it could also be that combat itself is just smoother and quicker than ME2.

Overall I was very excited at how challenging Insanity was without being just stupid hard.

I don't think anyone thinks it's hard per se, rather its frustration.

Not for example "they just flanked me because I was camping"

but rather "I died because I cant even make it to the other cover without dying (more HP more damage more accuarcy) and they flanked me"

One thing that must be considered for who are thinking insanity is easy. In the demo we saw only a few types of enemies, mostly of them of the weaker type. They add some kinds of enemies that will play with your hability to understand the battlefield and hit the enemies with the stronger attack, without giving them a chance to overpower you.

One example is the Phantom. He absorbs your biotic attacks, such as Warp, pull and throw. He can dodge frequently your shots and his melee attack is deadly. In one leaked demo of the MP, The player take his eyes out of the phantom to kill other enemy, when he look back, the phantom is not there anymore. Next time he show up, is with a katana taking out the player, killing easily other two next.

and then there's the Banshee, with a charge followed of a deadly melee attack (as we saw in one trailer). There's the Ravager, the mysterious Marauder, The Brute, and I'm just talking about the husk side of the force. Probably we will see more enemies like the Phantom in the Cerberus and Geth groups, that behave in a different way, making the player rethink his strategy.

Also keep in mind that that's how hard they are on when you're a level 12... most importers should start at level 30^^

I played on hardcore. It's amazing. JUST right. It's challenging yet possible. The first time I played I couldn't help but think "HOLY! This is SO much harder." But once you get the mechanics down - it's like a far more exciting version of ME2 insanity. Enemies are dodging and evading, flanking you and your allies, healing their turrets. It's absolutely amazing.

That said.. I'm far more freaked to try insanity on ME3. Hardcore is a fun hard..but I imagine insanity will just be insane.

I went through Insanity with all classes and it felt challenging without feeling cheap (Which is really hard for developers to get right imo).

So... kudos to BW!
