Hello,

I read on another forum that in order to get all 12 love letters, your character must be a rogue or have lock picking skill.  Is that true?

Yes, most of them are in locked chests, but you don't actually have to be a rogue. Just bring one along.

what do these love letters do?

They're for a quest. It's gotten from the bartender of the Gnawed Noble tavern in Denerim.

There's one in a locked chest in Arl Eamon's estate in Denerim, so to get that one you have to be able to pick it yourself since you can't have your party in there. For me, that was the 12th, so unless I missed a 13th somewhere, you have to play as a Rogue to be able to complete that quest.

Totally false. I completed this quest both as a warrior and a mage in my first two runthrough. While there is one in Arl Eamon's estate, it is NOT a locked chest. I know, cause I was counting on the second run through. Just hold the tab button and be sure you click on everything and you should not miss anything. Also, be sure to find the one in the Brecelian Ruins entrance.

brescilian riuns entrance.. bit more specific plz, i gathered alot already, but still seem to missed some :S

Could someone please tell me where in eamon's estate is this chest?? In my first playthrough as a rogue I found it but in my second playhtrough all I find is locked chests. This is after the landsmeet.

As you enter the Ruins form the brescillian forest, this area is called the ruins upper level, on your right and left there hidden entrances, just walk up to the one on your left(as you enter) it will open,the love letter is in the chest.

Yay! Found my last letter. I didn't know there were more than 1 secret door in the Brecilian Ruins, I had found one secret door and assumed I had already gotten a letter from there. Found the other secret door now and voila.

NOTE: The secret door WON'T show up with the TAB key. You have to walk close to the wall for it to show. It's just at the entrance of the Brecilian Ruins, to the left before crossing the roots bridge.

you do not have to be a rogue, you just have to have one with lock picking skills in your party.
