About time.

It was unnerving watching an un-helmeted merc take a high caliber anti-materiel round to the cranium and only taking a black eye.

I find it interesting almost everyone talks about shooting the head off a Cerberus enemy and nobody seems to notice shepard choosing to kick off a head of a somewhat 'helpless' being. I wonder how this thread would have developed if I titled it "Does my Shepard need to do this?" and just showed the Husk clip.

Without whining I just don't think Mass Effect needs this but whatever, I'm more interested in your opinions

ps: just throwing some meat in the rabid dog cage called BSN ;)

Approve, particularly the first one.

Shooting someone at point blank range with a shotgun should cause a lot of damage.

It's war - what do you think happens in real life to people who get hit by grenades, etc. etc.? I'm fine with it.

If you don't like it that's your problem. Deal with it.

The Game, Series is getting better and better. I love Mass Effect!!! It's have a Mature rating for a reason, if you can't handle it go play a teen game or something.

Love it. I remember blowing off the head of a zombie in Reisdent Evil 4. Fun times. Just don't let Fox News find out about this. If they freak out over a side boob, they'll freak out over lots of blood.

Mass accelerators do horrible damage to a body. WAAAAAAY more immersive than seeing a freaking health bar go down like in ME1

Couldnt care less either way.

I play games mainly for the story and gameplay, if they have gore ...well that fine. If they dont have gore...thats fine too.

I was sad when no gore whatsoever was produced by exploding shuttle containing the small kid Shepard tried to save..

****Possible Minor ME1/ME2 Spoilers Included****

I like things to feel somewhat realistic. It enhances immersion overall (as many have already pointed out.). I think adding this tiny bit of extra brutality is good because you having a problem with it speaks that you actually think about what you kill. It might give people a better overall understanding of "hey, this is actually a war, not some conflict easily won by a seemingly suicidal mission." I actually hope to see things in the game that bring people (the ones that care for the story, like me, instead of just "shoot/smash/kill everything!") to consider their actions more carefully and think on a deeper level about how it could impact their character's mental health and the lives of those around them. I know my Shepard has only "executed" one person, and that was Fist back in ME1, and I'm pretty sure watching the woman get ground into grey matter on the Collector Station is much more brutal and twisted than popping the head of a Cerberus soldier or curb-stomping something that is 1: No longer actually human and 2: Would want you to kill them if they were in that state anyway. That said, my second ME Completion will be a cold-hearted Renegade selfish, racist bastard, so anything I say is completely debatable. ;)

i am liking what i see of the gore in the game. i mean the whole head exploding seems a bit extreme but i guess it makes sense with snipers and shotguns. what i would have liked to see was the kind of bullet wounds that red dead redemption had. an entry point with a large exit hole.. seems like that would fit the level of gore in the books.

Yes, it needs to f***ing die! stomping its head in will (probably) accomplish that.

Apart from one decapitation animation, I don't see any gore increase. It is nothing compared to what you can see in games like Wolfenstein, Unreal Tournament or Quake. I have played them, so this game seems normal to me in terms of gore.

War has gore

Although I have yet to get access to the demo so I can't judge if excessive or not.

The warning for Mass Effect 3 says that it includes partial nudity. I suppose that means the romance scenes have more in common with Mass Effect 1 than Mass Effect 2? If so, I'm sure a few heads will explode at Fox News. Posted Image

Yeah those poor husks, how dare he kick them... seriously...?

Husks are unintelligent undead monsters, it's like kicking a rock and somebody complains you about it...

And those cerberus guys, well theyre not exactly human either... without saying anything more to spoil here..

Shame that I can only shoot off heads and not arms or legs.
