i think the gore was to lacking in the first game but i think they where trying to target a wider audience. there audience has now grown older and more sucessfull games now target adult audiences as the core gamer demographic has aged. and we are more accustomed to gore from other games that involve shooting etc

Feels correct, taking elements from Gears of War and Dead Space to add to a war effect.

No, but the style of it is more remniscent of it. Next to god of war though, there are not that may games that has gore and doesn't use it excessively.

Notice how the head disappears before it explodes? Just kind of find that distasteful. I want more violence in these games. It's rated M for mature, not PG13.
Even though we all know teenagers are playing these games.

I didn't know PG-13 movies depicted blood, gore, decapitation, and chunks of flesh flying after a shotgun blast.SpectreSaren wrote...

So decapitation and blowing people into meatchunks is "PG-13"? What do you consider "R"? Tell me, have you ever played Gears of War? Or Dead Space? Or God of War? or Call of Duty's Zombies mode? How about Mortal Kombat 2011?

I like the expanded gore, soldiers covered in blood... but the exploding heads are a bit too much.
If he's taking a Widow's anti-materiel round to the cranium, what do you expect? A black eye and a small cut?
What about a GPS or Claymore to the face?

Maybe the definition of PG-13 changed in 2012 or something.AgitatedLemon wrote...

The US has some sort of rating against nudity and sexuality, as much as it is overpopulized by everything, violence is commonly accepted. Opposite is held for..Australia.

Essentially, it's better for your child to play Manhunt (Widely considered one of the most violent games of all time) than for them to see bewbs. Psychologically scarring, dem bewbs are.

Not to mention killing the pyros with Overload or Incinerate. Dem meatchunks.
On husks, Shockwave also dismembers them when they land.

All we need now is a curb stomp (Actually, that's in the game) and an assault rifle w/ a chainsaw and we're good to go.
No, a Chainsword. While we're at it, every gun should get a Bayonet and it could be a screw driver or a kitchen knife.
