I come walking out of that building after killing that slave jerk n see this lil girl who's lookin for her mommy, my heart went out to her.  I remembered hearing about her somewhere in the game so I came on here to see if there's anything I missed or what I could do n only to find out there's nada... How freakin WRONG.  Bioware thats just ugh wrong, why bring her into the picture in the first place.  Man I remember her mom talkin how much she loved her n missed her n now come to find out I can't help this lil girl.  Pfft Image IPB

I'm not saying you can't help her. What I'm saying is that directly trying to change her lot in life might not even be what she wants for herself. The PC just doesn't have the right to do much for her.

To articulate better where I am on this:
I think it is a loose end; I think people here are romanticizing the notion of helping her.  You think we don't have a right to help her, perhaps not even a right to talk to her, fine.  At least let us find out she hates us :P  Not everyone would despise you for kind words and a full belly, or at least just kind words.

Something like, "I met your mother, she was very nice.  Here's a trinket from Highever."  You wouldn't force it on her.

100% agree.   Perhaps I was just assuming that offering to take her to live in a noble's keep would be an improvement in her life, and she would want that.  Its possible she has rich relatives taking care of her, and she just likes to wait at the gate all day, hoping her mommy returns.  But, it sure would be nice if Bioware had not left this loose end, and actually gave us a conversation with the girl and some options to choose.

I felt bad for Amethyne too, but I feel worse for the guy eternally doing pushups across the street from her. His Drill Sergeant must have died in the uprising and never told him to stop =(
