One of the recent videos had Sheploo interrupting James, so yes.

You know, I'm gonna draw a comic out of this. LOL.

If you do, I hope I'm among the first to see it! :wizard:

I dunno, I'm not too worried about it. Most of the auto-dialogue was at the beginning with the walking conversation between Shepard and Anderson. It was nice to have a different kind of conversation dynamic than two people standing there. Its not something I want to see a huge amount of, but it's fine for the first level when mostly we're getting told what we already know.

What I can't help but wonder is if there is a different opening in general for those who have importaed a ME2 save. One with a select few additional dialogue choices, based on the fact that that player knows about the universe going in. That's what the opneing has to do for new players, but old ones don't need it as much, so I would theorize that Bioware provided some additional control as a result. Just a guess, mind you, based only on my personal wishes and hopes, not on any real evidence.

FemShep trailer, apparently people can hear a renegade interrupt during their fight time.

I know you get it. I have seen you talking about it today. Its other people misunderstanding you and myself.

I honestly...can't imagine playing the whole game in that same fashion...no choices...no matter how good the game is that would be MASSIVE damper on things if thats how Shepards behavior will be in it, extremely linear and replying to people without even giving me a choice on what I want to say.

I so agree with this.

It's an (action)RPG - I want to roleplay as shep. Having her chat away without me like she does in the demo makes that hard.

In the voice-actor release trailor. Listen during the fight sequence right before Shep points his finger at James, it's the interrupt sound.

Edit: Found it. Click here to watch and listen for it.

There is - Anderson's speech at the start references specific actions. Or at least, it did in the leaked beta.

Devs have commented that dialogue changes drastically depending on whether the save file is new or imported.

Given how much the demo is geared towards new players, I have no doubt it's using the 'new Shepard' version of all the dialogue.

Overall really well done. Only a few small gripes:

1. A few classes didn't really get major new powers ie. Infiltrator only got Sticky Grenades which I hated using, Adept only got Biotic Grenades which have their uses but would much prefer a compeletely new power

2. Altough there's slightly more variety in Character Creation, there's still not as much variety as I would have liked. Was expecting longer hair styles, a few more hair colors, etc.

3. Rolling was annoying when it automically placed you in cover, sometimes I wouldnt be able to duck into cover at all.

4. I was expecting the final evolutions of powers to be much more unique and devestating. Some of the powers final evolutions are really nice. Others are similar to the previous 5 evolutions.

Overall these are all small things, the major things BioWare nailed perfectly. Got really high hopes for this game!

I'm not sure if they are permanate powers or just new bonus powers.

One of the things that I saw that I really liked, was that if you pick Action Mode in the beginning, it railroads you into being a Soldier.

I see this as a good thing, hear me out:

I interpret this as a kind of punishment to whoever chooses that option. to me, it's their way of saying "What?! You don't want to have any participation in choosing the dialogue to steer the narrative in our video game? Then you don't get to experience the other classes!"

Exactly, say a prayer that the game isn't like this.

Given that I imagine this group would have very high expectations for ME3, I'm happy to see largely positive (and some very positive!) reactions. And of course keep in mind: Earth is an awesome intro but also effectively a tutorial level, and Sur'kesh is really fun too...but the demo is essentially just a very small sample of all the amazing places you go and things you do in the full game :) Probably that's a bit obvious to say, but it's worth keeping in mind. It only gets *better* from there.

Any idea if the team is considering lowering the shield/health bar down a tad. Several people, including myself (in other threads) have mentioned that it is a little annoying. It is survivable though.

I can't really speak to that (game dev side) but I'm sure plenty of devs are paying attention to reactions and feedback.

Lovely, Here's some Feedback....

Having seen the recent demo footage, I noticed that the health and shield bars stay on the screen constantly even when Shepard and crew aren't taking damage.

Health and Shield bars invariably take you out of the experience and there's no reason to have them there
constantly if you aren't taking damage.

I realize that you might want to know how much health you have outside of combat though, so here's my suggestion...

Make the Health and Shield bars appear when...

1:  Shepard or Crew are taking damage.
   and....
2:  When you bring up the power wheel or weapon wheel.
  and....
3:  Have the health bar stay up permanently if Shepard is low on health.

That, way you can see the information when you really need to (IE when you're taking damage or when you're low on health) and you can easily check your health whenever you want by simply punching up the power or weapon
wheels.

To impliment this....

There should be a menu option to toggle when the health and shield bars appear.

Giving The Player An Option Between...

1: Have the indicators fade as I described
   or....
2: Have the Indicators always displayed.

That way players who want to have their health and shields always displayed can have the option; but players who find them obtrusive only have to look at them when they really need to.

Not about the demo, no. I'm just making a well-placed guess that the demo is with a 'new Shepard'.

But there are multiple versions of a lot of the dialogue in the game scripts that I've seen (depending on whether you should already know a character, or if you haven't got a clue who they are).

I remember a dev interview confirming multiple dialogue paths that would either explain things/events/people for new players, or assume you already knew them if you'd imported a save.

I'd be so happy if that happens in the actual game. It's kind of messed up but it would encourage people to play Mass Effect the traditional way.

No. I understand the concerns, I have them too. My response was in the context of just the demo though.

The demo is supposed to give us a taste of the final game, and for those of us who enjoyed the role play in the previous two, its not looking too good. :(

I think you're being too pessimistic. The demo is clearly combat-oriented and aimed squarely at new players.

I got enjoyment out of it, but if you're looking for dialogue I'd suggest you wait until the final game.
