I understand the demo contains the first few hours of the game, and people have noted elements seem to be missing.
Is it confirmed the demo is cut or is it a straight copy from final product?

One small improvement that I really like over ME2 was the ability to remap the y button to something other than the class skill. Just a small change but great when hotkeys are limited. I can finally unmap tech armor from my sentinel :)

Just wanted to chime in here with my two cents. I haven't played the demo, but I've watched several playthroughs of it and it did exceed my expectations. I understand people's concerns and I have my own nits to pick about the full release, but this was very well done. I appreciate that Bioware have released/are releasing a demo before the full game. We didn't have to get this. Remember 2's demo released after the full game? So, I'm just saying thanks.

"I'm a fan."

The Health and Shield bar annoys me, It was never like that for ME2, I remember they had something similar for early builds of ME2, which they took out again for the game, so why bring it back? and make it even bigger?

And ME2's was nothing like ME1's. Things change.

The size is a concern I can respect (although I respectfully disagree) but complaining that it isn't the same as ME2's seems silly to me.

The size bothered me

Until I actually played the demo.

Oh! Just wanted to add that in the positives, I too really like how the power customisation seems more indepth. Definitely thought that aspect was an improvement, it'll allow me to tailor make my powers a lot more easily.

That's the question,  because Bioware announced that the script had changed from the leak,  and I for one am very worried that the change was removing dialogue.

It's a very plausible scenario considering the "Action" mode implementation which makes a whole group of gamers effectively auto-dialogue.

I am very concerned the other modes were impacted in order to implement it.

Maybe the health bar was designed bigger because your health doesn't regenerate the same so its more important to see how much you have left. Just a thought.

Bioware would cripple the dialogue for the sake of their Action Mode, eh? I believe they are absolutely capable of that.

While I'm still as hyped as ever, I do have a couple gripes (everyone already knows the positives, after all).

Firstly, the movement is just as poor as in ME2. Adding a roll did, well, almost nothing. Movement is still static, and out of the roll you always come straight to a standing position, facing in the same direction. It kind of defeats the purpose of adding a roll at all and brings us back to square one. Still fully possible to handle combat, but it feels years behind Gears of War (the first one, released in 2006). While ME =/= Gears, ME3's "new fluid combat" has been hyped all over the place, and I respectfully disagree with such a statement. It's still pretty archaic.

Secondly, the graphics seem... off. Somehow. I don't know. ME2's wow'd me far more than ME3's. In fact, ME3's seem worse. Perhaps it's to account for the more wide open areas, but any character models up close just look lousy, the framerate isn't consistent, and the whole thing seems "video-gamey", if that makes sense. Like, in ME2, I could lose myself in some parts and really feel as though I'm watching a CGI movie. In ME3, I'm never really given the same experience; it's always clearly a game running on old hardware. I could come up with a rather large list of already released console games that look much better than ME3, judging by the demo alone. One of which would be Resident Evil 5-- which came out three years ago.

Still thoroughly enjoyed the demo. Enemies are more active, the health bar change is welcome, the stat upgrade system is far better than ME2's, meleeing is finally a rewarding action, music and cinematic presentation is as fantastic as ever and after seeing her in-game, the new FemShep design is fantastic. I still hope we can alter her somewhat and move the jaw back a little; from the wrong angle, she kinda has a monkey mouth.

From what I've seen on youtube. It looks good. Can't wait to download it tuesday. Still can't imagine why anyone would choose action mode over roleplaying.

Is there content cut out of the demo for spoiler purposes and such, or is the demo the final product as far as the scenes and dialogue is concerned?

Overall, a very enjoyable demo. Graphics look great, the story looks to be as epic as ever, and the combat is top-notch. The only issue I had was that it seemed the game had difficulty putting Shepard in cover. I would press A, and he would roll or just stand there. A bit annoying.

It's definitely not the final product, so don't get too worried over that part.

It's a very obvious cut. It begins with very little prologue, and after the Earth tutorial, it overtly states that it is skipping to a part of a subsequent mission of Sur'kesh.

The cover system STILL suffers from lack of crouch. Instead I am relegated to pirouetting and somersaulting across the battlefield if I want to move to cover more than a small distance away.

Damn. Lots of people have said this. Cover was already a problem with ME2.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. While I enjoyed the demo, it doesn't really answer too many questions in the intro. It just felt "tacked on", if that makes sense. But it also seems like bits and pieces. In the game proper, it seems like there will be a substantial bit of content that has not been revealed yet. That's what my gut tells me, anyway. We'll find out March 6 for sure.

My only problem with the demo is the movement. Your companions' and Shep's movement very strange, like if they floating or something.

Bioware added a feature that removes the main point of Mass Effect and all their hard work. Dialogue and making choices just to pander for the idiotic shooter fans.

I found the difficulty surprisingly hard. After years of beasting enemies, they finally got smart. The Mattok rifle didn't seem as lethal, and it was slightly off setting getting use to the COD-like cross hairs. None of my custom Shepards came out right, they also seemed to suffer from that uncanny valley look. And last, I can definitely see how the kinect function could work to your benefit.

idiot =/= shooter fan

I'm a huge Gears fan but that doesn't make me any less intelligent.

I also have my concerns about auto-dialogue but I find the idea of Bioware spending the last 3 months cutting off content from their game ridiculous. Everyone knows that Bioware is trying to attract a new audience but this doesn't change the fact that a majority of their players will still be playing this game for it's story/dialogue.

So I'm pretty sure whatever was in the script will mostly be there in the final game too. Unless someone who read the script can say otherwise about the demo.
