Did the demo meet everyone's expectations?

That's the question, because Bioware announced that the script had changed from the leak, and I for one am very worried that the change was removing dialogue.
It's a very plausible scenario considering the "Action" mode implementation which makes a whole group of gamers effectively auto-dialogue.
I am very concerned the other modes were impacted in order to implement it.
Bioware would cripple the dialogue for the sake of their Action Mode, eh? I believe they are absolutely capable of that.
I also have my concerns about auto-dialogue but I find the idea of Bioware spending the last 3 months cutting off content from their game ridiculous. Everyone knows that Bioware is trying to attract a new audience but this doesn't change the fact that a majority of their players will still be playing this game for it's story/dialogue.
So I'm pretty sure whatever was in the script will mostly be there in the final game too. Unless someone who read the script can say otherwise about the demo.
The problem is though, we're not dealing with Bioware, we're dealing with EA, and I can absolutely see EA doing something like that.
Oh, you lot do know the demo can't be any bigger than 2GB (on XBL) right? That's why dialogue and probably some other things were cut down in the demo.
I understand what you're saying, but I'm a bit sceptical on this for one reason.
Why would you release a demo and cut out the major feature of your game?
Doesn't make much sense to me, and it's telegraphing to me that the dialogue is not an important component for them, which makes it very possible it was comprimised throughout the game.

Is there content cut out of the demo for spoiler purposes and such, or is the demo the final product as far as the scenes and dialogue is concerned?
This is the beta that was leaked last year, you can notice dialog differences. I think in the demo they took everything out that referred to past games, it does that. Suppose it's for the newbies who have never played a Mass Effect game before.

Most of it was cut out because the two places in the demo are very action-y, it even states before going on to Sur'Kesh that you're going to be playing an action-packed part of the game. During these two sections, trust me, there was no place where we could just stop and have a nice jolly conversation.

When they leave a pistol scope for you pick up and then you can't do anything with it...well that kinda of a downer.
But I like the controls and how I'm able to move a lot better. It's not a bad thing at all.
Playing as a Vanguard you feel like a god LOL, I played it on normal the first time. Since then I've played it on hardcore. Nova is awesome, I don't even care about charge anymore.
I've only played as soldier, vanguard and engineer so far. Still have to do the other three classes.
Also I tried it with the kinect (I've played the demo a total of 5 times now) so I did it once with my headset on and the volume on my TV pretty much on mute.
With the exception of one time (when I said "talk") the kinect function worked very well. In fact for a lot of the commands I didn't really notice lag or slowness like I thought.
However when I played without my headset and with my TV volume back on, my kinect had a lot of difficulty with the commands in combat. With the exception of the few dialogue choices in the Earth demo.
And lastly here is my Engineer Femshep

Yes, but my expectations weren't all that high.
I just think the intro is completely rushed.
Riiiiiiiiiight.
Yeah, seriously. It's been a perpetual issue. Honestly, ME2 was a worse offender in this regard IMO.
So the intro is actually the seen we´ve seen in that first (!) beta leak? Actually, I don´t wanna know, want to be a bit surprised if possible when I play the demo

Funny how people who say they loved it and it exceeded their expectations generally go on to praise the combat and the weapons sounds/customization. But don't say or share any particular concerns about the reduced dialogue options (I know it's been confirmed there should be more but I don't expect a lot of folks to know about that when they try the demo), the facial animations being kind of off, and the wax doll syndrome. Just saying... Could the people who are blown away be more into the action side of Mass Effect?
Maybe some are, but i'm certainly not. The story, characters, and general universe are my priorities. The combat is purely the filler in between. Dialogue options are not something I was concerned about myself, it was very obvious alot of stuff was cut out of this demo. And the devs have said that just two conversation choices is not common, I saw no reason to doubt that myself.
Things like a few iffy facial animations, or a slightly odd walk are not things that concern me personally. Sure, i'd like everything to be as great as it can be, but nothing will ever be perfect. When I think of how at one time, Mario Brothers used to wow me with it's 8 bit sprites - what people can do with games now amazes me. Maybe it's something about being a bit older and not being part of the generation that expects perfection in all things and cries out if they don't get it.
So no, i'm not sitting in front of my TV drooling about the big explosions and gun sounds. Those are nice of course, but without the proper ME experience that i've grown to love over the past two games, they don't count for much.

Me watching the YT vids:
"Oh, you're an Infiltrator and spent enough points for a Rank 4 Tactical Cloak, but you never ever use it and instead just charge out blindly firing your assault rifle using no powers at all? You twit!"
"Oh, you're an Adept and put decent amount of points into Singularity and Cluster Grenades, but the only power you spam over and over is Warp? You putz!"

Bioware has outdone themselves and pulled out all the stops. I still worry about how Co-Op and sinle player will work but the narrative and gameplay are all spot on.

I understand the demo contains the first few hours of the game, and people have noted elements seem to be missing.
Is it confirmed the demo is cut or is it a straight copy from final product?

I'm not thinking those were the changes.
Action mode is basically like a movie; removing conversation options isn't there. The Beta showed those dialogue options that were missing from the demo.
Remember, ME2's intro didn't have much talking and I did notice a HUGE difference in conversations. We'll see in March.

EA doesn't get to make those sorts of calls.
This is the Edmonton studio, not the abysmal DA2 one.

That means nothing.
MW3 was a different team and the same stuido and that game was 30 different kinds of different.
None of them good either.
