Did the demo meet everyone's expectations?

My expectations of the MP was low-so it exceeded it there.

The SP it did not. Then again if it wasn't for the MP, I don't think we would have had a demo at all. That being said Bioware seemed to build a demo that only highlighted the action portion of the experience. ME is as much about story, character, atmosphere, choice, and a dash of roleplaying as it is about the run and gun action.

Long and short-I don't think they did a very good job of translating the ME experience with the SP demo. At least I hope that is the case.

Edit: Looking back, there appears to be some kind of diconnect between the marketing of Bioware's last few products, and the actuall product.  I never purchased DAO2, but played the demo(that sucked arse)-and was told the demo was not representative of the entire experience.  I'm guessing that is somewhat the case here.  I'll say it again-I think Bioware would be better off just not releasing SP demos.

I guess it met expectations. Single-player was fine. Solid enough, nothing startling. The new control system is fairly miserable. Most of my friends had enough trouble with the ME2 cover system, but the new mechanism leads to a long comedy of errors.

In-game multiplayer is more polished than I was expecting, but the method to get into the game is entirely unpolished, which I suppose is in line with my expectations these days. I don't like the game mode at all really, but it seems a respectable effort for adding multiplayer to the series. It just desperately needs more variety, configuration options, and a server browser.

It was great! I'm just hoping for more dialogue options in the final product :P

No way in hell.

Although, I suppose my standards were set *too* high after hearing people like Casey say that ME3 was going to be more like ME1.

I've just played the demo again, this time on normal difficulty and in rpg mode. The combat was much harder this time around, so I've needed to use my rpg skills and tactics a bit - or rather a lot. As it was, the controls didn't work as well as first time around (playing on easy, I think and in story mode). Or rather when I played on easy, it didn't matter as much that the controls didn't work properly.

I like, however, the fact, that you'll need to take cover to get through the level in the second part of the demo. In the first part (on the Citadel), i knew that the running animations were not that great. However, I also noticed what several people also have noticed; the lip sync and the faces seem to be not quite there. And by that I mean, the head doesn't appear to be put on correctly on the neck, the lip sync, especially Anderson's seem to be saying that Anderson's lines are speaking out of term e.g. the lip synch doesn't quite fit or keep up with what Anderson is saying. And somehow the scene with the kid is just better with a female Shepard, but maybe it just my own pre-judices being shown here...?

A question: can you only take cover at certain places in the demo or in the game? It seems that way.

Oh, btw, to turn subtitles on, you'll have to into options, then narrative, then subtitles. Makes sort of sense, I think, but it isn't logical at first.

Back to the combat:

I enjoyed the combat, although I had to reload a lot. The only annoying thing is that you actually have to reload a lot. And it does seem like you can't throw a Frag Grenade when the reload message is flashing at the screen? The reason I enjoyed the demo (a part from the reloading and the other stuff) is this:
It is varied, andd you'll need to use the environment to get through the levels and defeat the enemies.

The SP met my expectations, which were low. The MP however, exceeded them, I'm having allot of fun with it, the unlock system is dumb as **** though.

The Citadel is not on earth, just saying.
