i had fun with the demo, although i did expected much more , dialogs , choices, choices that actually affected the gameplay somewhat, freedom at the beginning of the intro eh it probably was cause it was just a demo, but if the final product gets to be like this demo ima hate the game so much.
it sorta reminded me in a way of Halo or any other streamlined game

The intro sequence won't change much. There was a lot cut from Sur'Kesh though. You'll dig that place more.

It surpassed all my expectations, i will never be able to enjoy ME 1 and 2 the same way after playing this demo. i love this game.

I played the demo and thought it was alright, but being someone who has only played Mass Effect on the PC trying to get use to the 360 controls was tough. They didn't feel as fluid and tight as they do on the PC for me.

Same - the cover system was a bit gummy and I had a few issues where it would stick to cover on the other side of the screen or a delay in popping in or out of cover.

But I think those are glitches in the demo - I hope.

You mean unbunned hair....That dosn't work that well in combat.

In the begining of the game, Ashley is allowed to let her hair down (Buns it back up when called on for combat, however).

Yet Shepard is forbidden to do the same?

I really liked the gameplay, this is going to be a really good game but.....

I definitely don't like all the cutscenes and rails in the demo (almost half the demo is cutscenes) and if they are that common in the main game I know that will really get to me, maybe I've just played too much open-world skyrim lately though.

Also, I remember the devs saying normal mode would be equivalent to veteran. I played veteran in ME1 and me2 and think I may stick to veteran in ME3 as well. The game sure does seem to be improved

Yes, but my expectations weren't all that high.

I just think the intro is completely rushed.

As opposed to ME1 and ME2's intros?

Riiiiiiiiiight.

Yes, as opposed to ME1 and ME2's intros. ME3 it takes about 15 minutes before you're sent off to collect all the races.

In ME1, it takes a couple missions before your sent off to the main questline. Same in ME2.

Actually, you are in fact wrong. After you escape Earth in ME3 you must go to Mars and then the Citadel before you can go throughout the galaxy to get the help from the various races.

As a huge Mass Effect fan who is massively (forgive the pun) invested with this series, I am imensely happy with how the demo turned out. I can barely stand the wait for March 6th! :o

I do agree that being able to walk around and talk to people before the meeting would have been great. Perhaps we could have run into a few friends and talked before heading to the meeting. But I understand the urgency, if the Defense Committee wants to speak with you, I can't imagine that gives much time to stroll around.

The combat and movement took some getting use to, but once I got the hang of it, it was a blast. Peaking around one corner, disorienting a cerberus agent, and then rolling out of cover, sprinting up to him, and taking him out with the omni-blade is incredibly satisfying.

The graphics look incredible, and with each run through of the demo I was torn between taking in the gorgeous (and tragic) visuals of the Reapers descending on Earth, and moving on with the demo.

I don't think I need to repeat anything about the sounds and music. They speak for themselves.

Overall, I am unbearably excited for the full game. It was short and had plenty of content missing, but was just what I need to get me excited for the whole thing! :D

The cover system may need to be improved and the movement hints. That all either way we'll have to adapt to new game play.

And I know this is a demo after all but the character creation needs to be fixed.

Gameplay and story seem really good.

Default femshep is great but the character creator seems much uglier than me2.
Very little input required during cut scenes: shep is happy to do most of the talking on her own (even in RP mode). More watching shep now than being shep.

Side note, I wonder how the romances work in 'action' mode....

Given that I imagine this group would have very high expectations for ME3, I'm happy to see largely positive (and some very positive!) reactions. And of course keep in mind: Earth is an awesome intro but also effectively a tutorial level, and Sur'kesh is really fun too...but the demo is essentially just a very small sample of all the amazing places you go and things you do in the full game :) Probably that's a bit obvious to say, but it's worth keeping in mind. It only gets *better* from there.

Hey Jarrett,

It's also worth noting for those who are concerned about a lack of dialogue options that there's much more to Sur'kesh than what we see in the demo. :P I may or may not have watched the beta a few months ago, hehe.

Also, not sure if you're aware sir but there's an audio glitch. Wrex is alive but it's Wreav's VA on radio chatter. Do you know if this has been addressed? Wrex is definitely himself in-person, but definitely his brother on the shuttle, lol.

The gameplay itself was perfect.

I just had a feeling that the important parts for ME weren't worked out enough. Conversations were nerfed to 2 identical answers, intro was rushed and completely without explanation and lots of confusion (even for someone who played Arrival).

I am aware that "it's just a demo", but I think I am able to form an opinion of the current state that was shown to me.

I always wanted to see what it would be like to see both Wrex and Wreav in the same scene. I'll put my money on they despise each other.

Since you are the marketing manager, whats up with the strange early demo promotions? Where are the ME1+2 owner early access to earn extra loyalty?

It's a bit clunky and unpolished, but I liked as much as I thought I would like.

Would you be so kind to tell us just how up to date this demo is as far as power balanced is concerned? Is it safe for us to use it to start planing power template or is power cooldown/damage/duration data from the demo obsolete?

Does anyone know how the "Gather the races" missions are structured? Would they be like DAO/ME1 missions where you can explore and do side missions while on the planet? Or like ME2 where its just get to the planet, shoot and choose?

I haven't read the leaks, so i'm ignorant to a lot of the structure when it comes to ME3.

Not true.

I'm pretty sure in ME3 you're sent off to the citadel or mars right after earth, with no choice. They're more or less the same.

Although, I agree that it feels a bit rushed that the reapers attack before anything even happens. I think a little more depth and background could have made that section feel better.

As far as I know it's pretty up to date.

Good point about Sur'kesh story by the way!
