I would very much like if Bioware would release a high-resolution texture pack for Mass Effect 3, even if it's just characters/weapons focused (which take up most of the screen during cutscenes).

Aren't TV's bigger than most monitors though?

My monitor is only a 23 inch roughly.

The difference is that most of us sit much closer to the computer monitor than we do to our TVs. Given the way my living room is set up I'd need a 67" TV to have the same effective size as my PC's screen

Yeah, basically for anything that gets a closeup.

And how does releasing a high res texture pack make them lose any money?

I support a Hi-Res texture pack for PC.

I support them too but for everyone. Our Console fellow gamers should have it too. And mods, huge patches, everything that makes PC gaming so awesome, although I don't see them using kb/mouse. And we should complain if their consoles cannot use that. An they should complain if PC ports are under optimized in some way. We should stand as one. Gamers UNITE!

wasted devs time costs money. They could use that time to speed-up the production of the next title.

It's not wasted time if they just give us the textures and let modders put them in the game.

Well it's a good idea actually but as long as ME 3 don't have textures as bad as Skyrims snow textures close up then i can live without it too but Bioware don't be lazy ass sitters this time too make it happen.

the developers don't care about PC gamers at this point cause 90% of you are all going to boycott the game cause of Origin the remaining 9% will pirate the game and 1% will actually purchase the game.

I am the 1%, cause I couldn't care less about Origin.

Anyone think an online petition would do a better job of adequately conveying our sentiments about this?  At least it would garner a response from a Bioware dev (hopefully a graphics programmer) as to why we can, or cannot have a high rez texture pack.
I don't think I could tolerate another Mass Effect game with textures that look like putty....some of them at least. Image IPB

Problem with that is that their hardware (mostly the RAM and GPU-RAM) isn't really up to high resolution textures.
Next generation of consoles should fix that.

Can anyone tell me how it seems like people make graphics seem more important than gameplay and story? I really don't see how graphics matter at all; then again, I've been gaming since a little before the N64 was released.

Because people like graphics.

As much as people bemoan the cost of games at all, the fact is that graphics sell games. Crysis wasn't a GREAT game but it moved units I suspect mostly because people wanted to see how good it could look on their system.

Nintendo wisely got out of the graphics race and conversely won this console generation BECAUSE people weren't expecting fantastic graphics from Mario and Zelda, Nintendo focused more on gameplay.

As well, people like to think games are SERIOUS business and in that, you HAVE to have lifelike characters..

Why do you think Zelda or mario will never go for the lifelike look? Nintendo knows quite rightly that once they go for a realistic look, they're screwing themselves.

Now, I'm with you and I'm amused by how many threads we have here on BSN talking about graphics, be it how shepard runs, to shepard's eyes to shepard's facial animation...

Really can't deny that gamers are attracted by the flash....

Now that's an incredibly valid argument. So valid that it hurts. God... so obvious! Why I did not notice this earlier?!
Maybee because both Zelda and Mario graphics were never supposed to be realistic in any way... unlike games that in a straight-forward way aim for realism.

Where do you people even get ideas this irrelevant and stupid?

No, it's not. PC gaming has practically never been bigger than consoles simply because consoles are so much more accessible and easier to operate. PC gaming will never be bigger than consoles but it certainly isn't dead.

Funny fact is PC gaming is actually doing pretty fine, and is at it's finest since it begun, while at the moment console and console games sales are droping...

I don't know about excepting, but what about accepting?

And no it's not dead, and it will never be, that's a myth.

PC Gaming is far from dead. I own multiple systems and if a title is multiplatform I always go with the pc version. Games that provide a lot of work for the modders are really popular. If I have to hate some decisions Bioware made towards the pc market is the fact they never released any ME toolkits for modders, like how they did with DA:O.

Anyway, I don't see that much of a problem with the pc version of any ME game so far. It would have been fun if they added some high-resolution textures or other bonuses, but the game looks fine without them too.

I don't think anyone saying they're more important, it's just as important as gameplay and story. Now focusing on the textures, they could be better, and this is what this thread is about.

It's not more important, but considering most people play closer to their PC screen than the TV which connects to their console, the lack of quality is going to be more obvious.
Not too mention that an average PC is likely to have more RAM and a better graphics card than the current generations of consoles. So it's not that weird to actually want to use them. I mean if your TV can utilize full HD wouldn't you prefer to have channels that broadcast in it.

Also there have and still are plenty of threads about gameplay and story on this forum so it's not like we are somehow neglecting to discuss those issues.

EDIT: People! Please report and then ignore obvious trolls.

My main issue with Mass Effect 2 was that it compleatly changed the controlls from ME1 for some reason that eludes my comprehension, and also they made the controlls less intuitive. I never really cried about the graphics, with exception of hideous closeups on Tali and her ultra pixelated neck.
