I'm not trolling, I was genuinely curious. I'm the type who wouldn't care if a game had N64 graphics and textures (I tend to use the two words as synonyms at times) as long as the story and gameplay were good. I'm more a console gamer and only own two PC games (Fallout 1 and 2) so I am a bit ignorant towards what PC gamers deal with.Poison_Berrie wrote...
It's not more important, but considering most people play closer to their PC screen than the TV which connects to their console, the lack of quality is going to be more obvious.aLucidMind wrote...
Can anyone tell me how it seems like people make graphics seem more important than gameplay and story? I really don't see how graphics matter at all; then again, I've been gaming since a little before the N64 was released.
Not too mention that an average PC is likely to have more RAM and a better graphics card than the current generations of consoles. So it's not that weird to actually want to use them. I mean if your TV can utilize full HD wouldn't you prefer to have channels that broadcast in it.
Also there have and still are plenty of threads about gameplay and story on this forum so it's not like we are somehow neglecting to discuss those issues.
EDIT: People! Please report and then ignore obvious trolls.
To be honest, I do feel that devs should take the time to fine-tune the textures for PC and make the PS3 and XBox the way they are right now. The main reason why they don't is because PC tech is constantly improving; within one year, gaming tech for PCs improve multiple times. I think most game developers haven't yet gotten to what the PS3 and 360 are truly capable of in terms of graphics and everything, though. If devs did try to keep the PC version up to date, some would wind up releasing the PC version after consoles.
Honestly, I think the whole "we need to release games every 1 or 2 years" mentality needs to stop. I think that is part of the problem.
