The entire ME franchise is a X360 game ported to PC and PS3 so I don't think they will release DX11 support and high-res textures for ME3.

And they don't have a big GPU maker sponsoring them to do this like Human Revolution or Arkham City had.

I am not interested in DX11 support, but there is no excuse to gimp the game for PC users.  Regardless of GPU sponsorship, it is still an AAA title with the full support of EA.

Yup, I agree with you.

I play ME on PC as well and the textures make me cringe everytime there's a close up.

It's a fantastic game, my favorite series but I can't imagine how much better textures would add to the overall epic experience. Look at this guy, the work he has done on ME2 is fantastic. He's currently working on better textures for weapons and NPC's

I just started trying out his textures for ME2 and they are FANTASTIC.  The only catch is the 5 minute load time!  But, wow, what a difference.  Especially with Jack's tattoos.

The 5 minute wait is totally worth it. You know, it's modders like him that made me realize how important textures are. I got used to the horrible textures in ME1 and ME2 but they didn't bother me, when I did another playthrough with all the high-res textures my jaw just dropped... the game looked near perfect. I can't wait for him to release the NPC pack:

I also want to add that we wont achieve anything by complaining on the forums, we need to do something but we need to do it together. It's the only way. I don't want to ask for a petition since it's not allowed on the forum but we can think of something.

Probably been brought up already but if not here's an idea.  Form a group dedicated to High Res Textures in ME3, get everyone you can to join the group, convince friends not already part of the BSN to sign-up and join, etc.  Then on behalf of said group you send an email to the devs with a request and a link to the group so they can see the number of people who are behind such a proposal.  Don't know if that would qualify as a petition as per forum rules but just throwing the idea out there.  I'm a console gamer so it doesn't really effect me (PC gaming got way too expensive way too fast), but I'd join up.

I thought we were done feeding trolls. DPSSOC - That's a great idea, I'll do that tomorrow since it's getting pretty late and I've gotta go to school in a few hours.

Then that's fine with me, cause I modded ME2 succesfully, if not extensively. But I'm wondering if the inclusion of Origin will affect that now.

Based on this, Origin is not likely to interfere with modding

4) If we need to modify .exe files (or similar) to run the game will this cause a problem with Origin?

Origin shouldn't freak out if you have to fiddle with ME3 files for technical or modding purposes.

Yes, they certainly are.  His hi-res textures are jaw-dropping, especially the extreme detail and clarity on Jack's tatoos.  Top is vanilla and bottom hi-res comparison -- totally day/night difference. Could you imagine if we could get a hi-res pack for ME3? Would be mind-blowing!

I support high resolution textures, as I always have.

Could you guys maybe decrease the piracy talk and increase the comparison pics. The difference is amazing, and this thread deserves to not get locked.

Please make it happen Bioware.

Oh yeah, those textures are amazing. I had them set up on an old build (PC that got replaced), and they were phenomenal. I can only imagine what they'd look like in ME3. If we can get BioWare to do this, maybe they can do it without undue load times, too. How sweet would that be?

Did you saw Against all Odds trailer (the one released at Spike's Video Game Awards)?

That was all PC footage. Practically no differences from consoles...

How bout this one?

http://www.tweakguid...m/Piracy_1.html

Not saying you're a pirate and I'm not trying to start THAT debate here, just providing a much more comprehensive and credible report from someone PC gamers should have universal respect for.

Anyway, where the heck are those darn signatures?

I know you weren't intending to steer the topic, GuardianAngel, but all the same, let's keep that piracy talk out of here. We're doing our best to keep this thread on topic and NOT locked.

As for those banners, I don't know. Someone said they'd be able to make one or a few, but I think they weren't sure what to use for pictures. We could always have the face of Sheploo with the shades on. Just. . . Kind of tossing the idea out there. . .

That was me. The offer is still on the table, just tell me what you want on it and the image and hey presto! I'll conjure something up for you. I made those Morrigan Forever and Rose of Orlais signatures that DA people carry around now a days so I should hopefully be able to do an okay job. ;)

If you want to do this then you can count me in as an interested BSN member/PC user who likes to post a lot so if you make one I'm sure to give it some exposer.

Lets turn the tables shall we?

When the Xbox 720 comes out, would you want the graphical fidelity of games to remain the same as the current Xbox 360, or would you want developers to tap into the greater potential of the Xbox 720's hardware to improve graphics far and beyond what the 360 was capable of?

It's much the same with the PC.  A modern gaming PC is orders of magnitude more powerful than current consoles, yet developers rarely ever take advantage of that power.

Great examples of  recent titles that took advantage of the modern PC's capabilities are Crysis 2 DX11 Ultra, BF3, Witcher 2, Batman Arkham City.

As for PC graphics and why we care...it's simple. Most PC gamers invest in their gear to see the cutting edge. It's the same reason I bought an HDTV in 2000 even when there were no HD channels broadcasting in my area.

Present day you don't even need to invest in cutting edge. Any mid-range PC can do high resultion textures (1024 and 2048) with ease.

ME 2 didn't have any difference between 360 and PC (in both controls and textures) and we haven't really had any confirmation that it well be any different for ME3.

EA is publisher.
publisher gives developer (bioware ) money and schedule to develope contracted game title.

Cos' EA publisher has the money, they have upper hand when it comes to deciding which development team they acquired they keep or not.

In this case, EA long ago decided rpg is niche genre compared to prominent genre like fps (call of duty which several millian is playing) and they decided to reduce money and time that is allocated to rpg dev like bioware.

Well, it might be serious, adult stuff for you to understand, so I will not expect you to fully understand what I've just said, well, ppl who knows about it, knows.

Publisher EA and worker Bioware relationship.

No EA is not the publisher. BioWare is EA.  EA acquired Bioware there is no contract, Bioware is not an independent contractor. Nor does contracting an indpendent developer work that way, developers contact publishers, to publish their product.

EA may choose to influence the general direction of BioWare or and IP, because they own it.

You are very very confused, you also sound like a fool "serious adult stuff" I would stop now before you embarrass yourself, you are out of your league in this discussion.

EA ( parent company ) bought out bioware (subsidiary company). So
EA is not bioware.  EA owns bioware studio and has power to decide
which game bioware developes for how long.

Or I don't know the EA's exact business structure but
EA
owns many studios like bioware, and "THEY CAN MAKE BIOWARE DISSOLVE" if
they decide to if they think keeping bioware (component) is not
profitable any more.

EA is bigger, Bioware is a component of EA.

Maybe you can learn more about Merge and Acauisition if you decides to take economy class in college.
