Gonna explain why your wrong very easily.
The high res textures already exist. Its not about makign them, its about simply giving them to us. Unreal is plenty capable of it, look at any other unreal 3 game out today on pc, like Arkham City. When developing these games Bioware create the original models in very high resolutions then downscale them to preform well on console. PC users are only asking Bioware to do what most other developers already do, leave the high res textures in the pc version instead of only giving us the downscaled textures from the console versions. Thats it. Its something that is pretty much standard in the industry but Bioware don't bother doing it. Its either laziness or simple apathy, it is not in any way a technical or budget hurdle.
At the end of the day texture resolution makes a HUGE deal in PC gaming. The proof can be clearly understood with just a couple simple pictures. The quality difference is phanominal and its all purely from the texture resolution.

Indeed you refuted that paragraph very well. Too bad I did too, and explained why there are still holes in our understanding of the situation.
I am well aware of how much difference higher resolution textures make. I'm also well aware of how much difference turning off bloom makes, turning on AA makes, turning on more cinematic lighting, and so on and so forth.
I own a gaming PC or did you not read that sentence at the very start?
You cannot assume the worst; you can only know it. I showed you holes in the argument, holes in our, as a community, understanding of the development process. Maybe Bioware takes a different approach to the development process than the guys behind Batman. Maybe the adaptations they made to the engine aren't well sutied to this approach. Maybe they chose to devote resources toward other things instead of optimizing load screens for higher resolutions. Maybe they had a system malfunction and all the high res textures got wiped out.
You assumed that Bioware were being lazy. You assumed they were apathetic. There are other options, and you chose to not give them the benefit of the doubt because you were so sure they just didn't care about you.
The number of things Bioware have done to appease their fans could fill a book. Or have you forgotten these?
They've done enough to earn a little benefit of the doubt, but you and many of your compatriots are too entitled to your textures to care. You deserve those textures because you paid good money for the game (or didn't). Bioware owes you those textures because you're a fan too.
I'll ask you a question but you don't have to answer it. Is the PC version of every game the superior one?
If you answer yes, then I'll say it again: shut up and stop whining that you didn't get everything you wanted for christmas. If your version of the game is superior to that of the consoles, you have already been given more than any console player who pays $10 more than you for the game gets so you aren't entitled to ask for more.
