Gonna explain why your wrong very easily.

The high res textures already exist.  Its not about makign them, its about simply giving them to us.  Unreal is plenty capable of it, look at any other unreal 3 game out today on pc, like Arkham City.  When developing these games Bioware create the original models in very high resolutions then downscale them to preform well on console.  PC users are only asking Bioware to do what most other developers already do, leave the high res textures in the pc version instead of only giving us the downscaled textures from the console versions.  Thats it.  Its something that is pretty much standard in the industry but Bioware don't bother doing it.  Its either laziness or simple apathy, it is not in any way a technical or budget hurdle.

At the end of the day texture resolution makes a HUGE deal in PC gaming.  The proof can be clearly understood with just a couple simple pictures.  The quality difference is phanominal and its all purely from the texture resolution.

Indeed you refuted that paragraph very well. Too bad I did too, and explained why there are still holes in our understanding of the situation.

I am well aware of how much difference higher resolution textures make. I'm also well aware of how much difference turning off bloom makes, turning on AA makes, turning on more cinematic lighting, and so on and so forth.

I own a gaming PC or did you not read that sentence at the very start?

You cannot assume the worst; you can only know it. I showed you holes in the argument, holes in our, as a community, understanding of the development process. Maybe Bioware takes a different approach to the development process than the guys behind Batman. Maybe the adaptations they made to the engine aren't well sutied to this approach. Maybe they chose to devote resources toward other things instead of optimizing load screens for higher resolutions. Maybe they had a system malfunction and all the high res textures got wiped out.

You assumed that Bioware were being lazy. You assumed they were apathetic. There are other options, and you chose to not give them the benefit of the doubt because you were so sure they just didn't care about you.

The number of things Bioware have done to appease their fans could fill a book. Or have you forgotten these?

They've done enough to earn a little benefit of the doubt, but you and many of your compatriots are too entitled to your textures to care. You deserve those textures because you paid good money for the game (or didn't). Bioware owes you those textures because you're a fan too.

I'll ask you a question but you don't have to answer it. Is the PC version of every game the superior one?

If you answer yes, then I'll say it again: shut up and stop whining that you didn't get everything you wanted for christmas. If your version of the game is superior to that of the consoles, you have already been given more than any console player who pays $10 more than you for the game gets so you aren't entitled to ask for more.

Yeah so i tried to ask Jarret a question in the other PC thread,

and guess what? THREAD LOCKED......

so again:

Jarrett Lee wrote...

When we have
to omit a particular platform or group of players from something, we do
so regretfully and only after carefully considering all the options on
the table.

Exclusive DLC?

Jarrett Lee wrote...

So
basically: please know that we are always going to make every effort to
bring every promotion and release (and content) to as many platforms
and fans as we can. At no point does anyone ever think "oh well, those
are just XYZ players. No big deal.".

So will the PC version have proper Graphic options?
Will it have fully customizable keys?
Will we get that High-Res texture-pack, Ever?

Also
i'm pre-empting an argument stating that a high-res texture pack would
be unfairly ommiting content from console players; No. I'm not
complaining about Xbox kinnect am I? my PC doesn't have a kinnnect
thingy funnily enough neither do those PS3 users. But since PC players
both can use and need those textures i don't see why it's being
withheld.

Sorry, I just have an ingrained disgust for entitlement mentalities. I did come on a little strong there.

Wait, do they already have High res textures sitting in a folder? So can someone, anyone, please tell me why they can't release it? I'm ignorant to game development, but it sounds like they just have to put the files up for download.

That's what I've been trying to say, if it were that simple, they'd probably do it. Which means it probably isn't that simple.

WARNING PC GAMERS MITE BE OFFENDED !!!
This is just my opinion but pc games should only be strategy, arcade and mmo's. Action, horror and most other genres are best suited to consoles, and while I believe bioware will release a higher texture pack, mass effect shouldn't be on pc in the first place......sorry pc gamers (I own a pc, so I do know what I'm talking about)

PC is way better than consoles, its more flexible, more powerfull, can be upgraded with new parts. It is suitable for every type of game, and you can use a controller to play games if you want. You can use a TV as monitor too. I'm not saying consoles shouldn't excist but PC is a lot better than them. Btw I think you' re an idiot.

Consoles are getting old and antiquated, they are holding back game graphics and tech continually, instead of keeping lock-in-step with PC systems which will always be superior. Console gamers are content with being smug because they do get their special attention because they still stick to their machines because they know they'll get preferential treatment, however they must full well know that in doing so they are holding back the future of gaming with their cold dead grip on their controllers.

This sentence makes no sense. Consider revising.

Eh, it just needs a semicolon in place of one of the commas. Not a big deal.

Click for info, dont forget to check out CP statement about modding ME games

I don't know how flexible me3 will be with regards to modding. But If Hires is possible keep in mind after the HiRes pack came out for DA2 all DLC armours and such were LoRes. Once again modders had to do the devs work for them. Hooray for nexus.

PC gamers are becoming a bit to needy it seems. Don't they have mods and we don't?

Being able to adjust game files is an inherent quality of our system and doesn't imply that Bioware offers mod support for their game (they don't).
The only reason we have mods is because skilled people found a way to do so themselves.
That's like complaining that a Kinect controler for the XBox 360 doesn't just work when I plug it into my PC.

I think the main problem is that their modified UE3 doesn't support post game textures.
Which is why some people said just let us have higher textures by default, since they are likely already in existence.
They have created them, though, since cutscene and trailer Shepard can haz them.

Also people should not respond to obvious troll attempts and just report them.

Why not? So the console players pay more for less you say? Well boo freaking hoo. If people are getting ripped off according to you then it's their own dim witted fault for not been more aware of the technological superiour and (in the long term) cheaper alternative. The reason that they (the corporations) charge console gamers more for less is because they can, and the solution is smarten up. Pinning your frustration on the "privledged" PC gamers won't fix anything, and if more gamers would just explore the available options they can be privledged too. The fact that PC gamers are privledged can actually be attributed to their demanding an "whiny" nature of PC, and this is a general rule too, not just for gaming. The upper class people who live big, drive expensive cars and get paid more at work do so because they are "demanding", and "whiny". It's a choice.

Seriously? Even you should see what's wrong with that sentence.

"They are holding back game graphics and tech continually instead of keeping lock-in-step with PC systems which will ALWAYS be superior".

You're going to tell me there's nothing wrong with this sentence? How can a console keep in lock step with a PC if the PC will always be superior? It's an impossibility; it cannot happen. To be in lock step it would need to perform exactly as good as the PC (at the same level; the meaning of the phrase) but if the PC will always be superior, this can never happen.

If he meant that PC systems are superior in CONTROLS, VERSATILITY, and MODDING then he needs to clarify that because right now the sentence doesn't convey that clearly. Ergo he needs to revise the sentence.

I don't even know how you wrote that. If monetary expenditure doesn't entitle someone to extra content, I have no idea what in today's society does. You have not earned the right to request more for less. You are not the lifeblood of the company; console players are. You did not pay the same amount that that lifeblood did and yet you ask for "proper" keyboard and mouse support, high res textures, and proper AA support.

You weren't even supposed to get the game at all. But you did. And now you complain that it doesn't have the features you need. Some people lack so much perspective it's sickening.

Hey, you're the one that pointed out how "privledged" BSN is that Bioware is so generous. Did you happen to notice that in many cases that these favours that Bioware did for the community only happened after hundreds, or even thousands of pages worth of BSN members with "entitlement issues"? That's how you earn privledge matey, you have to make a fuss to convince the corporations that it's worth the effort. If BSN were like you Bioware wouldn't give us ****, and I want nothing to do with your train of thought.

My god you're a fool. The "you should be lucky you even have the game" attitude is ****ing redonkulous. With a PC game, we expect proper PC support. End of story. You pay extra because the company that supports your consoles like to rip you off.
