cut out of the demo seems to be a common theme

1) a majority of active dialogue
2) dialogue wheel with more than two choices
3) interupts
4) weapon customization
5) hack/bypass
6) codex
So is it safe to assume that the demo is only designed to showcase combat - because everything else seems missing....I assumed the demo was to explore all aspects of gameplay but it seems everything but combat has been stripped out...

ME3 demo size is HUGE (1.8G) and MS due to tech limits has a limiting size of 2GB. I'm not sure what else you would cut out to make room for anything else...
(Most game rarely crack the 1GB limit...Gears of War 3 for example was only 1.2GB)

Small corection. It is 2GB.
Really, I thought everyone knew this already?

I guess no one can just wait and play the game when it comes out. They need a 1000 point list of features, all of which has been triple confirmed by high ranking Bioware officials and carved in stone just for good measure.
Not a direct shot at the OP but God damn what a needy community.

If anything is cut in the demo, it's the combat. With the inability to customize your weapon loadout, non-soldier classes become a real bore to play.
Not necessarily... just focus on only one power... you will eventually be able to use it effective.
.
For example, I maxed out throw with an adept... it recharge time was normal but if I used it in a biotic combo there was no cooldown at all.

Oh, I had no idea.
It'd be nice if Bioware explained that to everyobdy, so we don't have thousands of people screaming about the missing stuff.
I mean, there's a good explanation for why it was cut down.

Bioware shouldn't have to explain it. People should stop being moronic.
We're expected to, what, mind-read that demos can only be 2gb?

I am asking is the demo worth playing if you are more interested in the aspects of the game other than combat as it seems everything else was trimmed out...Does it give you a feel of the other features or really just the shooter aspects?
Yes, its worth playing.
I dont know why people are getting caught up on what features are or are not in the game, its a DEMO, its not complete nor representative of the final product, so you shouldnt EXPECT it to be complete.
Basically its just to showcase the improved graphics and character creator, as well as combat. Totally worth playing, you can even run it with either male or female shep, any clase, you can decide if you bump into kaiden or ashely, and you can even try out the 3 modes (action, RPG, story).

As weird as it sounds, I think many people here have NEVER downloaded a demo on Xbox360...
(Indeed, the original size of demos on the Xbox360 when it first came out was either 500MB or 800MB)
Demos on Xbox360 have ALWAYS had cut features for their game..
Hell, kingdom of A:Reckoning is the first game I know of that actually hits the 2G limit and there, the developers actually had to keep reminding people they had to low-res features...

It sucks for us all because I can tell you now the PS3 and PC version of the demo will be IDENTICAL in content to the Xbox 360 version even though there is no 2gb limit on the PC or PS3 services.

The demo's only 1.6. So, it's not like they were crunched for space.

Of course, there was a time when demos were just the first level or so of a game, but other than that they were fully funcitonal. Yet another way consoles suck.

No, you're expected to know that demos don't have everything the full game has to offer, hence them being demos.ElitePinecone wrote...
