Really? I thought talking to Thane, Samara and Mordin was way more interesting than the ME1 squad. I even had the impression that alone Legion was more interesting than the whole ME1 squad together.

I much preferred all the ME2 exclusive squaddies to the dull characters of ME1. Forcing all of ME1 squad back upon me severely gets on my nerves, especially as they've abandoned any character variety in the squad too.

Even though I've been confused myself, most of the squadmates from Mass Effect 2 do not return in your squad for the following reason: they only agreed to help Shepard on the Suicide Mission...After that, they'd eventually go their separate ways...They were there only for that mission...Now, friends of Shepard on the other hand, like Garrus, Joker, Liara and Tali, of course they would return...

wright1978: I dunno. I like ME2 squad but most characters felt incomplete, almost one-dimensional compared against some of the orginal crew. I'm happy I've got them back. No one of them was dull. Garrus & Tali got extra development in ME2. Ashley/Kaidan are interesting characters with a lot of emotional stuff attached. Liara bears half of the story on her shoulders. Wrex is interesting ...

On the other hand we had several broken characters in ME2 - and all of them needed fixing just to work properly. All of them.

We haven't even played the game (except for a half hour or so of demo) and already people claim the squad sucks, or this sucks or that sucks....

Can you not wait until the game comes out before declaring something about it sucks?

So OP has not played ME1 and is complaining that the ME3 squad sucks even before meeting them for a good deal amount of time?

Look I dig Miri & Legion too (+ Zaeed, Samara and Kasumi) but I'm not gonna say that ME3 squad sucks because I can't have these people in my team.

Granted Horizon is terrible and it does not paint the VS in the best picture. And you know them in ME2 for like 5 mins?! I personally love both Ash & Kaidan and I would have gladly send one of the ME2 team mates in Virmire if that means I can keep those two.

LotSB gives a *very short* glimpse of Liara, personally I didn't like her in ME1 but I really dig her character development in ME2, I say give her a chance.

I won't comment on the 2 secret squadmates because... I'll believe it when I see it.

You play ME2 without knowing Miri & Legion and you ended up liking them so why not give the new peeps of ME3 some chance, I mean you don't even get to know them yet. Not all sequels have to have the same teammates as their prequels.

Agreed. Like Saracen16 said, the Mass Effect squad had a vested interest in taking out the Reapers while the ME2 squad was focused on the Collector threat.

What are you on about. Me1 sqaud had a vested interest in taking down Saren. That is done just as Me2 squad took down collectors.

I agree OP. I think it's the worst of the trilogy. Mordin, Legion, Miranda are all 10x more interesting than any permanent squadmate announced in ME3. Only Garrus is cool to have around, but he is hardly the most complex and interesting character. He's more like the bro who's got your back.

Sooooo what happens if you've romanced a squadmate and they're not in the third installment as a squadmate? Do you get an awkard hug and kiss scene like in ME2?

There´s supposed to be some romance culmination.
Probably somethign between the awkward kiss and hug and the Liara romance in LotSB.

As interesting as they were, to revisit them again in their entirety would subtract from the story of Mass Effect 3. This game is not centered around the squadmates. Mass Effect 2 did an excellent job at exploring their lives, motivations, philosophies, and all-around character traits. Why should ME3 be more of the same? And who knows? Maybe the current squad in ME3 will be more interesting this time around. I'm sure BioWare has kept that in mind.

Does anybody else agree that the squadmate list sucks?! At least theres still Garrus...but no Miranda and Legion? or anybody else from ME2 for that matter (as of now, i dont know the rest of the possible squad mates but the ones i know of are what i am reffering to). There should at least be more choice in who you choose to join your crew/squad, i didnt play ME1 (sadly) but absoltely LOVED ME2, but you were kind of "forced" to use the squad you were "recommended" to recruit (but i still love them all). I just think Bioware needs to give the player more choice of who joins you, because whats the point of having all these amazing characters and using only a few of them? and not even the most popular/wanted ones at that?!?!

I just want Miranda and Legion added, then id at least be happy with that, otherwise i am EXTREMELY dissapointed.

And I preferred the ME1 squad and didnt like having the new shiney squad "forced" on me.  But I learned to appreciate them.   We all have our opinions on favorite squad members/makeup, they can't please us all.  Just play the game and enjoy the story.
