big enough pretty important role but i guess that depends on the player setting that up   as for grunt wrex eat him

I agree. If BioWare tried to appeal to everyone, and gave all the characters permament squad status, it would be a disaster. There would be a SEVERE lack of dialogue and interaction due to having to juggle all these different variables for squad members. BioWare did the smart and safe thing of choosing the fandom's favorites to boost sales. Now, why Miranda isn't on the squad is a mystery to me. Maybe it's because she doesn't want to be on an Alliance ship. IDK.

Out of the current list that we have, I would only add Miranda and Jack, and it would have been perfect.

While I agree that there was a lose/lose situation the clear me1 bias in the squad bothers me

Well, it isn't really a spoiler to say that Mordin is trying to fix the genophage in ME3 since that part was in a trailer. An important support role, but I doubt he'll see much combat time in the squad.

Grunt, tragically, died when I sent him to lead the fire team during ME2's suicide mission. He did his best, but those are the breaks.

The worst thing about the return of the ME1 crew is no Wrex. Tali was okay, I didn't care about Garrus at all (in ME1, he was better in 2), Liara was boring (again, in ME1, better in LotSB) and Ashley/Kaidan can die in a fire as far as I'm concerned. But I could deal with their return in ME3 if I could just have Wrex back as a permanent squadmate.

This. Wrex was the best about ME1 and you don't even keep him as a permanent squadmate. In short, they give you back the ME1 squad minus the most awesome character. Then they replace it with Brutal Sauseage Vega.

It looks like Wrex will be playing a significant role (though not as a squadmate) if he is kept alive for ME3.

I love Wrex but with what is doing I'd feel it is complete betrayal to his character and to the Krogan race if he were to abandon them just to go off with Shepard. I've stated my thoughts on this many times and there are some characters that could be easily be taken of the squad and put else where and it would make sense to have them there. ME2 characters like Thane, Jack, Grunt, Kelly Chambers, make more sense coming back as they would leaving.
Liara would be best in a non combative role on either the Normandy or Shadow Broker Base/Ship that could make room for Samara to be brought back. I love Samara and the code dictates that she protect the innocent from the evil and if that's the Case The Reapers are out to destroy and kill everyone and everything. Having her back with Shepard's Crew would allow her to contribute to saving the most lives.
I'm in the process of a draft on the characters and where they could be.

To the people who say stop complaining and sorta stuff i was skmply stating my opinion and thoughts on the new squad and wanted to see others opinions about it, thats what a forum is for.

And i saw once or twice people mentioned "if" miranda left cerberus bla bla bla...she did leave cerberus, and i think the crew did too (if they survived), because she did tell TIM "consider this my regnation" before cutting the channel, so i dont see hwere else she would go besides with shepard (if romanced), her sister, or just completely off the radar (which i would hate)...but thats just my opinion (would still prefer to have her in my squad)

It is. I'll probably not be using *female spoiler* or Vega and I certainly won't be using *male spoiler*. I won't use Tali.  I won't use Garrus very often.  Looks like it's gonna be Ashley and Liara threesome all the way

O well, people have their favorites, I guess Bioware figures if there's 2 squadmates we use all the time, it's the same thing as before lolol!

I'd like to see Miranda as squadmate in ME 3 too. My most used team mates on ME 2 were, Miranda, Thane, Grunt and Zaeed. Personally I really wonder what will happen to Miranda after she left Cerberus (they were protecting her from her father). I hope her ME 3 cameo will answer this question.

I can't stand Tali and not very fond of Garrus after his loyalty mission. On my most runs killed them during Suicide Mission. So my ME 3 squad will only have whoever left from ME1, Liara and Vega.

Vega looks good so far so he will be my permenant team mate.

Becuse trilogy was planned from the beginning and ME2 characters were here as short term sidekicks of some sort. I kinda get the feeling ME1 squad was meant to finish this war by Sheps side.

You know, colour me unusual, but personally I want the squad mates that the writers found interesting and to have an interesting progression or comtinuing arc, rather than the ones that I already enjoyed for the sake of the fact that I already enjoyed them.

Sure I'd like to buddy around the galaxy with them, but I think that rather loses sight of the fact that this is a story and not exposure to actual breathing people.
