Believe it or not, the game is doing alot better than some folks are giving it credit for
But that's here nor there and a topic in and of itself.

This is seriously sad and a lame damned excuse that PC gamers have to suffer because of console limitations.
I was getting back on the fence about getting this game when the demo came out but I do not think I can tolerate the camera shoved up ones backside (the exact reason i want to holster the weapon, so its easier to look around) whenever you are not in a "safe zone". Lets make a vast open world. Kick ass graphics. Excitement, explosions! And make you look at it through a door peephole.
The first part of the demo I was mashing all the buttons to put the stupid gun away before you have to shoot the first time just so I could get a better look at the carnage of the invasion. Nope. I missed so many items on my first go through because I could not get a wider view after the action was over.
And video game makers wonder why piracy is so prevalent on PC.

Your limitations won't have to suffer much more. Come the holiday 2012 Xbox 720 will come out, and it will have a blu ray player. So all people who play PC or PS3, this excuse will no longer be validated. So shut it, please. Thank you.

The animations needed to create the action for shepard and all his squadmates to take out weapons and to place them back takes up space on the disc. Plus you have to write the programming for the controls to work alongside the animation.
And don't quote me on the Xbox 720 having blu ray. It was announced on Attack of the Show a couple months back, and the new colors will be blue and white. And in the reveal, there were hints at a blu ray player and a possible built in kinect. So yeah.
DVDs is what is used for Xbox 360. They have anywhere around 13-15 GBs of information. And a blu ray disc holds twice that so yeah big improvement.
It will have a blu ray player? So freeking what? The issue is system RAM not disk storage.Kabanya101 wrote...

Then developers and people like you need to realise it sucks to spend money on a rig and have another system cause you a short changed gaming experence. I love gaming on state of the art hardware with a just released game built for 8 year old hardware!VeR0se wrote...
XBOX 720 is a rumor, not a fact, just because it was in Real Steal doesn't suddenly mean it's happening.
RAM is the problem for Xbox 360 users who frequently mod their xboxes to have better capabilities. I am one of those users. PC gamers need to realize not everyone can shell out 80+ dollars on those fancy graphic cards and HDDs
Really, state of the art and the ability to provide a great experience to you is a Subaru. Really? <_<Alrefie wrote...

Its like making every single road in the world one lane. Buying a STi and getting stuck behind someone in a Gremlin.

Brenon, could you bring more details into that? It's a RAM memory issue or disc-space file size issue? It's a problem exclusive to the demo or the full game too?
It's a runtime memory cost, not a disk space issue. You need those anims for the non-combat areas... so they're going to be on disk regardless.
In order to support exploration in the combat areas, you'd need to have all the anims loaded in memory... so that would be things like the 8-way walks, runs, incline anims, idles, idle twitches, male/female variant overrides, eye noise... etc.
All in all (iirc) it came out to around 2-4MB, which is relatively significant. Also, as you've guessed, yes - I'm referring to the main game (as well as the demo).

I though a new Xbox wasn't planned to come out until around 2014, since both Microsoft and Sony decided to create a 10 year life span for the 360 and PS3.Kabanya101 wrote...

You know there's bigger context sensitive non-sense in this series than holstering in a dangerous area, right. Shepard is still incapable of walking quickly outside of cutscenes. Looks like he/she's on ice and if he/she were to walk any faster there'd be much falling on ass. Yeah, it totally makes way more sense to job everywhere than to holster. Or to run and look like an orangutan. Or to give ManShep a kickass leather jacket and FemShep an awkward leather minidress. Sometimes you have to let the nitpicky stuff go.Immz wrote...
I just can't understand why nice little features need to be stripped for the "bigger picture". There's no excuse for removing animations, especially ones that matter. I hate running around having my fun just UP ALL THE TIME. I'm a god damned Adept, I don't need to fire my gun all the time, I have POWERS.
