It's unfortunate, but sadly it was needed to claw back a significant chunk of memory. :?

Thanks for the answer.

Somehow this doesn't bother me as much as I thought it was and I booted up the demo again earlier to figure out why, since I realized I couldn't holster my gun last night and got to thinking about it.

I think the reason I'm not as concerned this time around is that the animation angles for holding my gun out don't seem as jarringly in-my-face as with ME2, if that makes any sense. Especially concerning pistols. I can see someone holding a gun out for a while like Shepard does with the pistol in ME3, but not quite so much with the way it's done in ME2.

I'm inclined to agree with you. Another interesting animation I noticed was when you pivot in place Shepard will turn his torso around before he starts moving his legs, so he effectively sorta aims is gun around without moving his entire body like a turret or something, I liked that.

There's also the nice fact that your squaddies no longer sit there with their guns super extended. When they're not fighting something they nicely lower them so they look a bit more natural.

Aww, that's a shame.

Pretty much. How can that take up so much memory anyway?

I've never liked how your character is constantly pointing his/or her weapon where ever Shepard is looking - Even when there's no enemies around! This isn't an FPS

How big is the demo? Maybe adding in that functionality would've put it over the 2gb limit.

The implication I'm getting from Brenon is that this is a full-game kind of deal.

The demo is exactly 1.76 GB on 360. I'm with Jeff that Brenon is probably referring to the full game and not just the demo (unfortunately).

That would suck. Not having it just seems incredibly lazy to me.

And now you have a ****** poor multiplayer add-on instead!

So, what else has been removed to accomodate multiplayer?

Brenon, do you think you could elaborate a little more on this?

Yes, because the co-op is loaded into memory while you're playing single-player. FFS.

My friend, I fully anticipate the (already rather clear) meaning of his words to be confirmed upon his reply. But yes, thank you! :D

Brenon, could you bring more details into that? It's a RAM memory issue or disc-space file size issue? It's a problem exclusive to the demo or the full game too?

I don't care for Multiplayer much either. It's a nice add, but I'd rather have great singleplayer experience in this case.

I expect Chris to come in and say 'Do you want a weapon holstering or an amazing game experience?'

I remember him saying something along those lines, think it was about the mask Liara wore in space.

How exactly does the mulitplayer eat RAM from the consoles while you are playing the single player?

Aw man. I kinda liked being able to holster my weapon and looking around the scenery (Shep with gun out + the closer over shoulder camera angle from the demo + the hugeness of the health/shield meter kinda take up a wee bitty too much of the screen for my tastes)

When there are no enemies around, I like to do that sometimes. Sometimes in combat areas you have spots where there are no enemies, but some allies instead. I can always pull my gun out when enemies appear.
