Okay even though it galls me, I'd probably be willing to pay EA the price of a typical weapon clothing pack DLC if they make this at least a DLC on the PC, if they don't include it by default already, because we all know the PC version isn't going to be just a console port.

Here is something they SHOULD have done, instead of holstering option. If you don't have enemies at sight, Shepard would just lower his gun. It looks pretty silly when he just points that thing everywhere he looks.

Why cant we have a version of the game that takes advantage of modern PC hardware instead of crippling us because of the consoles?

Would you like to wait few more extra months for it?

The funny thing is that Shepard lowered his gun when I pointed at the Reaper harvester that flew by in the Earth level.

Haha, I wish he'd do that when there are no enemies around. Otherwise it looks like he is having a muscle-cramp.

because you pc gamers do not deserve any extras and plus there are more Mass Effect fans on the 360 and that is a fact

Incredible, people with this logic.
Oh if console can't have it, pc can't too.
Its not our platform fault that consoles have limitations.
And I see no logic of not adding it, its not like we are receiving 2 extra hours of gameplay because of that.

Well we already had to with ME1, remember, so if it's a genuinly better version with, weapon holstering, high res textures, optimized UI, then yes I would be quite willing to wait a couple of extra months for it.

As for the wait, Finis got it covered, I see no problem of waiting for a polished product.

It really isn't. It's not something that gets in the way of gameplay or story.

Console players are so used to eating dirt that they seriously think basic features that were in previous games are considered "extras", that is just sad.

There are also more people living in third world countries than people living in first world countries, what's your point?

No.  But it feeds into our PC persecution complex.

edit
@heavy In Hub areas you won't be able to draw your weapon, I assume.  Just like in ME2.

What's so autistic about it?

Insulting console gamers, just because they have a console, shows how immature you are.

I'm insulting console players because of the mentality they have, not because they have a console. Consoles are for people that can't afford the luxuries of a pc, nothing wrong with that, but it would be wise to accept your limitations. When you go and point that pc players shouldn't have "extras" because you can't have them yourself, or even worse, when you seriously consider basic features in previous games "extras" you are in for a laugh.

The essential problem with console players is that their standars are too low, and they try to push those standars to pc players.

"It's not a big deal, don't cry over it, you are complaining about a petty thing"

That needs to stop.

The repetitive behavior. But who cares, it gives me an action movie hero feeling. If at least bioware was decent enough to give modding support to the game...

Stuff like this is why I can't go back to console gaming.

Seems to me if that the reason is memory and animations, then they are not optimizing the game for the PC, its again the limitations of 7 years old hardware in the consoles being dumped on PC players. Why punish PC players?

Brenon, could you bring more details into that? It's a RAM memory issue or disc-space file size issue? It's a problem exclusive to the demo or the full game too?

It's a runtime memory cost, not a disk space issue. You need those anims for the non-combat areas... so they're going to be on disk regardless.

In order to support exploration in the combat areas, you'd need to have all the anims loaded in memory... so that would be things like the 8-way walks, runs, incline anims, idles, idle twitches, male/female variant overrides, eye noise... etc.

All in all (iirc) it came out to around 2-4MB, which is relatively significant. Also, as you've guessed, yes - I'm referring to the main game (as well as the demo).

Wow.  Well done guys, glad you're priorities were in the right place.  <_<

I do hope that this feature could somehow be incorporated into a patch for the pc version.

It's not like it's hours of exclusive content that would cause a platform war, so I don't see why it should annoy anyone continuing to play on the 360 (or ps3 for that matter?).
